Hello everyone.
I have a 2007 Ford Fusion SE (4 cylinder I believe), I drove it to Pennsylvania from Texas about a week ago and last night the battery decided to crap out and we went to buy another one at a battery warehouse.
I took the battery out and replaced it with the exact same (96R, 500 amp) battery that the car had in it originally. After I replaced the battery, the car started but only after a few more cranks than it usually took to start. The car then would idle beautifully, but applying the gas wouldn't rev the engine. We were given a suggestion to drive it 10 miles and see if that would help -- we ended up driving it and coming to a hill and the idling car in Drive wouldn't go up so we had to push it. Also, the cooling fan doesn't turn on.
We didn't have any of these problems until directly after the battery was replaced.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you very much for any help.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the negative battery terminal to reset everything. Do you have any warning lights?

No codes? See this thread
BTW, you're not sure if it's a 4cyl?
