P2270 code and I've just replaced the sensor?

I have a 2010 3.0 V-6 SEL and got a check engine light from the P2270 code. So I bought a Motorcraft O2 sensor and replaced the one under the car right before the cat. The light stayed off for a while, but came back on after a week. Is my sensor defective? Did I replace the wrong one? Is there another possible cause of this code?

Thanks in advance for any help.

P2270=02 Sensor signal stuck lean bank 1 sensor 2.

You replaced the wrong sensor. Sensor 2 is behind the CC.

See here.

As with any code, don't automatically assume that the sensor is bad. Other possible causes:

- O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 harness is open or shorted
- O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit poor electrical connection
- Air leak near oxygen sensor
The most common fixes for this DTC seem to be either an exhaust air leak, a wiring problem with the sensor/wiring, or the sensor itself. If you replace the O2 sensor, buy an OEM one (manufacturer brand) for best results. If you remove the HO2S oxygen sensor, inspect it for contamination from fuel, engine oil, and coolant. Other troubleshooting ideas: Use a fuel pressure tester, check the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. Compare to manufacturers specification. Inspect the purge solenoid valve. Inspect fuel injectors. Inspect coolant passages for leaks.
