So, I own a 2013 Ford Fusion and now have 2 mountain bikes. The trunk rack worked great when I only had one bike, but now that I have two it doesn't work. The reason it doesn't work is due to the design of the bikes and NO trunk rack will work (according to Thule) without messing up the bikes and/or the car. The bike shop said another option would be to get a hitch and attach a rack.

My question...what hitch and bike rack would you recommend installing on the car?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning,

I just had a Hidden Hitch brand hitch installed on my 2016 SE and I am very happy with the result.

I use it mostly for carrying bikes and my current carrier which is for 3 bikes fits perfectly.

If you do any research on this some hitch designs require material to be removed from the bottom of the rear bumper.

The Hidden Hitch does not, Some other hitch brands also require a reinforcing strap between the bike carrier and the trunk

lids upper lip. The Hidden Hitch does not.

The hitch cost $230 and the installation was $65.

I hope this helps,

Morry

I too am looking for a hitch. I will check out that hidden hitch as I do not want to modify the car.

OP: Look at the Saris thelma rack. I have been using mine for about 3 years and it has been great. I trust it with my $5k+ Niner RIP 9

I went to Etrailers.com found a hitch that fit my 11 and ordered it. Very easy to install, I backed up on Ramps so I could get underneath the car safely and let the exhaust down from the little holders and walla, bolted the hitch on and havent worried since.
