Are speaker level outputs my only option to add an external amp to the stock sync, non-Sony system? I don't know if I want to keep this car long so don't want to do any modifications. Or rather, I want to take the equipment with me without a lot of work to get the car back to stock.

2012 Ford Fusion SE I believe.

Thanks!

Joel

Yep.  There are no pre-amp outputs on stock Ford radios.

Sounds like the perfect time to use a DSP (Digital Signal Processor).  Something like an Audison Bit10 or an AudioControl DM810.

If you haven't already, I suggest you go to YouTube and search for a channel called CarAudioFabrication.  Some awesome information there.

This video of his talks a bit about some of the benefits of a DSP:

Piggy backing off the Original Poster, would the Sony Sync system in the 2013 Fusion Titanium have a Pre amp outputs for the ready?

Don't think so.
