New guy here,  recently purchased 2007 Fusion V6 AWD.  High miles at 173000 but a one owner car with good service history.  Pleased with the car so far.

My question regards the use of snow chains with 17" wheels.  The owner manual says don't do it as body damage will result.  Not happy about that.  Has anyone tried running cable style chains on 17" wheels and if so were there problems?  Also I assume the cables should be on front wheels?

Thanks in advance.
