Recommended Posts

I've been all over the vehicle trying to find its code and no luck. Under the dash and looked towards brake peddle. No luck on retrieving the key code. Are there any other suggestions on to getting the code. I only have one key so cant do the 2 key trick. Any suggestions please. Need it

Did you buy it used, have you looked through pouch the owner's guide is in, the code is on a business card sized piece of paper, maybe it's hiding in there. If not, call the a Ford service department and ask where the code sticker is located.

I don't think the newer vehicles have a sticker any more. If the card is not in the owner's manual/glovebox you may have to take it to the dealer. Isn't it still under warranty?

There's no such thing as a Hybrid EcoBoost. The Fusion (and C-Max) Hybrid and PHEV Energi come with the 2.0L iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 engine. The non hybrid models come with a 2.5L Duratec, 1.5L EcoBoost I-4 or 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 engine.

Well mines is the 2016 Ford Fusion hybrid se. I need to find the key code on it. I have no handbook with the card as my other one did come with. And I only have 1 key. So I can't do the double key fob trick. Is there another way I can find they keycode for it without taking it to a dealer. This other person told me with a obd scan tool. I've tried nothing. And I went underneath the dash and I can't find the sticker that so many say it's down there. Can I find it any other way?????

No, no other way. You need a Ford IDS and only dealers have those. You should also get a second key while you're at it. they'll probably look up the keypad code for free while they're programming the 2nd key.

There are a lot of manuals and cards that come with the new car that you should have gotten that relate to warranties and operation. It is important that you try to find them or replace them as this car will be under warranty for many more years unless it is a rebuilt wreck or has other title problems.

Again, there's no sticker under the IP on 2nd-gen Fusions.

Nope but you can get them on eBay.

But won't he need to have a dealer 'program' it to the car (and/or the car to the new key)?

As akirby mentioned in his March 14 reply, if you only have one key you need the dealer to do the programming of additional keys.
