Funny - they note it's built by an American automaker but fail to mention the factory is in Mexico.

 

 

With that said, Sync 3 remains a little bit more complicated than what’s used in some of the Fusion’s competitors. I also found that the navigation system can be vague and slow to respond to voice inputs, and the touted pinch-and-zoom and screen swipe functionalities are imprecise, all of which cuts into Sync 3’s overall appeal.

 

I don't understand this comment at all. I've had no problems with sync 3. Voice response is super quick and accurate.

I agree. I have no problems with Sync 3 and compared to MLT in my 2014, no contest.

Is there a vehicle that Motorweek doesn't like?

 

It seems they're easily impressed with any vehicle whenever I catch an episode.

Their phrasing is diplomatic, but they do point out highs & lows when needed.

They are a relatively low-budget show that is mainly a PBS show (although it also airs on Velocity.) They have to play nice or could lose access to vehicles. Most of the magazines and other big shows aren't all that different. If you want a truly independent and neutral review, then Consumer Reports is about all there is. Not the best if you only are interested in performance, but their focus is on owning and driving a car for real people, not the 1%.

Yes but they also have their own very clear biases.

 

They dinged Ford for MFT because it forced you to use the touchscreen for too many things originally and that it wasn't safe. The Tesla Model S has nothing but a touch screen for every function and they give it a 103 score on a scale of 1-100.

 

They also had a clear bias for Toyotas in the past.
