  1. In that case, You DID get the Red on Black or the Blue on Black as you desired, Take your pick! :hysterical2: :hysterical2:
  2. You should be able to buy a "black Grill" direct from Ford Parts as they now offer an optional body color grill in one of their packages. Since the car is made and offered in Black (metallic) so will the grill then. It would have to be available as an after collision repair part. Don't know if the Ford Emblem will be changed on it though, likely not. You can see the grill here: http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?showtopic=2192
  3. Really? I thought that the black seats only came with black inserts. Can you post a photo of your seats? Are they really two toned? Post a photo of your car or two outside as well. I kind of like the RED but was leaning towards Black myself.
  4. A little thing like that would drive me crazy until it was corrected. Possibly the dealer will need to simply pull off the steering wheel and turn it one tooth on the spline to get it where it should be. Force the issue if need be but have the dealer correct it.
  5. +1 What HE Said! (And I'll wax your car for $999.95 and throw is a Christmas Tree air freshener too!)
  6. it's good to hear that the cars are achieving better mileage then the EPA estimates on the window sticker say they will. I just hope that holds true when I buy a Sport AWD. Congrats on the new Car!
  7. K&Ns are great! That will be the first mod I do when I get my 2010 3.5 Sport. I have always installed K&Ns in my motorcycles for many years and they do increase performance. Best part is they are cleanable and rechargable. Be careful if you take your car in for service that they don't accidentally replace the air filter and throw away your K&N on you.
  8. My understanding is that the EPA is trying to emulate "real world" driving conditions to get the Mileage estimates closer to what owners and drivers will actually experience. We all know that Car Companies had those estimates on the high side for many years. Could it be that the EPA underestimated the attitude of the Hybrid owners themselves? I mean, you Hybrid owners seem to really try to stretch your mileage and while you may or may not be "green" minded you then are certainly fuel cost minded right? So, you are trying to get good mileage (especially now, when brand new etc.) whereas when I buy my new 2010 Sport model, I will be tromping on the throttle and wanting to hear the motor roar and worry more about fast acceleration times. Two totally different cars with two different intentions. I think the mind state of the driver / owner has allot to do with it and while it's fairly new it is fun to try to achieve high mileage fuel economy. Will you still be driving it that way two years from now though? Or will you drive it with less conscience and just use it to get from point A to point B. See what your actual mileage drops to then and it's likely to be closer to what the EPA says it is. Like I said, "real world driving conditions" Just a thought....
  9. It doesn't matter what the phone brand is. You need to turn your phone up to max volume (same with the ringer too) and then you can control the volume via SNYC. Otherwise you have two volume controls that counteract each other so if one is set to say 1/2 then the most you will ever get through the speakers is 1/2 output. The phone feeds SYNC so that should be set to highest volume as the input device.
  10. Congrats!! What color exterior? What color interior? Red, Blue, Black? Did you ask if travellink will work there in Canada? How about the Serius Radio, will that all work in Canada?
  11. Always remember to blame your computer, never yourself or your typing speed! Anyway, two confirming answers are always better then one.
  12. Can't be because the new "Appearance" packages are only available on the SE and SEL models, not the SPORT. Good guess though..
  13. Don't they have an official FORD website up there in Canada?? Build your own here and see all the options too: http://bp2.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/201...ChooseYourPath/ The SPORT is available in Red w red stitching, Blue w/ blue stitching or Black inserts, so the black would be black on black with white stitching. I'm pretty sure the dash accents on the black sport interior are dark grey or graphite colored as opposed to bright accents on the other models. -
  14. This has got to be SYNC at it's WORST! (It couldn't get any worse.) Hysterical!! :hysterical2:
  15. SYNC is SYNC and permanenty free in your car. "2010 Fusion offers all the great features of the available voice-activated Ford SYNC® System* -- plus two new features: 911 Assist™ and Vehicle Health Report. With SYNC you can access your music collection on your MP3 player by genre, album, artist or song title and operate your Bluetooth®-enabled phone with simple voice commands. You can even make music selections through your flash drive by voice command. SYNC gets a major system upgrade with the addition of 911 Assist. Within seconds after airbag deployment, SYNC uses your cell phone connection you programmed into the system to make a call to a local 911 emergency operator. A pre-recorded message will then play when the call is answered, and you’ll be able to communicate with the 911 operator.† Along with 911 Assist™, SYNC will offer a Vehicle Health Report feature. SYNC gathers information from the vehicle’s control modules and transmits it through the cell phone connection you programmed into the system to Ford by way of an 800-number. You can receive these health reports free of charge by e-mail or text-message alerts. SYNC is optional in Fusion SE; standard in Fusion SEL and Sport models and also in the Fusion Hybrid ". "Travellink" is seperate fron SYNC TRAFFIC, SCORES, GAS AND MOVIES: You only get a free 6 month subscription when you buy your car with NAVIGATION. After that is is a monthly or annual (your choice) subscription service that will cost you $5.99 a month plus the requirement to maintain at least a basic SERIUS subscription service too (Music etc.). I don't know about availability or service in Canada though but here's the link so you should be able to figure it out yourself. It is Satellite radio services, no phone required. Hope this helps answer your question. I know this all functions with the NAV screen but I am unsure and doubtful it will function without one. (I honestly think you need the NAV screen to use these features and services.) http://www.sirius.com/travellink If that doesn't answer your question adequately, you can try here instead: http://www.fordsyncforum.com/
  16. I think the 2 into 1 into 2 exhaust system is hard to beat (performance wise). I have that on my 2009 Harley and many guys consider true duals but find it hard to achieve the performance level attained by the stock headers. That somehow offers better scavenging of the pipes etc and achieves the best performance. Of course on the Harley you can easily change the mufflers to sound of choice too. Anyway, I like the sound I head in some of the YouTube videos. Here's one: If you're going to go through the trouble and expense of adding the rocker panels, I would definitely just consider getting the Sport to start with. But that's just me.
  17. Interesting. I am likely to get it with the back up camera but do think I prefer the one without the chrome trim back there (in black as shown too). But if there's no choice then there's no choice! You are a wealth of knowledge on these aren't you? Thanks! You may be correct. The one without the chrome was a "reviewer" car that only had AWD and the back up alarm (plus moon and tune) but no electronic package and no heated seats etc. So if your theory holds true, if you get electronics you get the chrome.
  18. Can you turn the foglights on independent of the headlights? In other words, can you put the foglights "on" while just using your parking light? Or must the headlights be on.
  19. Found this photo of a Sport model with this chrome trim piece under the center brake light. I don't see that on other Sports so is this an aftermaket item? (If so, know where to get it?)
  20. There's a couple of videos on YouTube of a guy timing his 0-60s and another 0-100 times in a Fusion Sport but you don't know if it's FWD or AWD. Just do a search for 2010 Ford Fusion Sport and you will find them on the first page or two. There's also a video of a guy on a test track enjoying a Sport and you can hear the motor which sounds cool but there are no details other then he likes it. I'll bet the 3.5 with the AWD is still quicker then the stock 3.0 with FWD because the final drive ratio is the same for FWD and AWD in the Sport with the 3.5 at 3.16:1 so no penalty for AWD in that regard. (The 3.0 in the SEL is 3.46:1 ratio) Equip both cars the same with options, spoiler, 18" wheels etc and I find about a $1000 U.S. difference in price between the 3.0 and 3.5 motors. I'm just glad that here in the US we are not forced to buy AWD to get the Sport 3.5 I found this and thought it was an interesting read: "It should come as no surprise that the Sport model proved to be the most fun to drive. It offers tire-spinning power accompanied by a growling soundtrack. Ford told us not to expect the EcoBoost version of this engine under the hood of any Fusion any time soon, but we aren’t sure we believe them. That said, this mythical high-performance Fusion will absolutely need all-wheel-drive; the Sport’s 263 ponies way overpower the front wheels. Ford set up a nice autocross course to show off the Fusion’s handling; but what it best illustrated was that the Sport is positively overpowered for a front-wheel-drive vehicle. We were able to get our best autocross times out of the entry-level four-cylinder. That four-banger is not only more powerful and more refined than its 0.2-liter-smaller predecessor, it’s more efficient. Ford predicts a rather wild 6 mpg gain on the highway, putting it at a class-leading 34 mpg or more, pending EPA testing. That gain comes as a result of engine and aero tuning, as well as an in-house-developed six-speed automatic transmission. The six-speed fired off smooth shifts but hunted for gears under aggressive driving. Again, most Fusions won’t see an autocross course, so we think it’s a great on-road setup. The midlevel powertrain is 240-horse 3.0-liter V6, a modified version of the outgoing motor. It doesnt endow the Fusion with the robust performance you’d expect out of 240 horsepower – leave that for the Sport – but it possesses satisfactory mid-range grunt and emits a refined engine note. " FULL REVIEW HERE http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-fusion-review.html I think I'll definitely have to get the AWD if I get the Sport.
  21. That's great that you were able to get it modified to your liking without having to replace the cover etc. It's a matter of taste I guess because one of the things I really like about my current Ford Escape (07) is the way the headrests are positioned. I can do long rides and keep my head (back just a bit) on the headrest and it is in perfect relaxful position for me, which I really like. I think this is a FORD trademark on recent vehicles. I recently test drove a Fusion and didnt pay particular notice of the headrest but also do know that it didnt bother me either. Hopefully they will turn out to be similar to my Escape with regard to location and position. Anyway, good post with photos! Thanks for sharing.
  22. Here's the PART 2 Video from Hunterville Ford in Huntersville, NC These guys do an outstanding job in their videos and rep FORD very very well. (My opinion based solely upon the videos) http://www.metacafe.com/watch/2782548/2010...r_charlotte_nc/
  23. It does, Thanks! So if I find them annoying at least I can turn and leave them off. And I'm kind of glad the Fusion does not have DRLs. I like to control my own lights when I deem them necessary, etc.
  24. Early on for 2010 it appears that the SPORT model was available in the Atlantis Green color. Now its only available in Black, Red, Silver and Blue. What happened to the green, anyone know? If any were sold, it could be a rare bird but I myself might have liked one. P.S. edited I smell a "photoshopped" internet photo! LOOK at the reflection on the driver's side of each car, look at the "tree line" etc in the reflection. It's the very same car, just in two different colors???
