  1. Much like Hondaconvert, I too drove many cars and the choice became the Fusion Sport or the VW GLI. I liked the appearance, the quality of the leather and the performance of the the top-of-the line Honda Accord(V6)but found its seat cushion too hard for long trips (I commute between Scottsdale and Las Vegas twice a month) and found the Fusion to be much quieter (less road and wind noise). I have been pleasantly surprised by the Ford's quality. My last Ford was a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 (my first new car) which was a piece of junk. My last six new cars have been Volvos and I have watched their quality decline under Ford ownership. So it has surprised me that with over 6K miles on the car in two months, I have had no reason to bring it back to the dealer for anything - not even a rattle! I guess you could also call me a convert! I am also enjoying 28mpg on the trips to/from Las Vegas.
  2. That makes sense. Is the SEL less expensive even with the handling/decor package?
  3. Thank you. Using the "Bluetooth Audio" command works and VZ Navigator comes through the car's speakers.
  4. Three weeks ago I purchased a 2010 Fusion Sport with the Sony system (I have driven it about 900 miles during this time). This week I am travelling and rented an SE with the standard radio. I have tuned both to the same Sirius station. My observations are: The Sony system has cleaner sound which is obviously better but both systems are pretty good. Having said that, neither has the "drive the neighbors crazy bass" that you would get from an aftermarket sub-woofer. Now, I'm 62 (and wish to keep my hearing a bit longer) so I find that at normal listening volumes, the Sony system is as good as any system in any of my friends' Cadillacs, Mercedes, etc. The quietness of the Fusion (both variants) is remarkable for a car of this price-point (which contributes to my appreciation of the sound system). Also, I was pleasantly surprised at the accelleration of the four cylinder rental car - not like the Sport but surprising adequate in short merging situations. Amazingly, both cars are getting similar mileage in all-around driving. That surprised me. Perhaps it is because you have to push the four cylinder harder to merge into traffic.
  5. Sync telephone works well with my new Blackberry Tour. However, when I use the VZ Navigator function on my phone, I cannot get the sound from the navigation program to come from either the Blackberry or the car's speakers. Anyone solved this problem? Newbie needs help. Thanks.
  6. A member of the Volvo V70R website did an interesting test of various oil filters. You can access by searching on www.v70r.com for "oil filter".
  7. Has anyone had a new sun visor installed which includes a Home Link garage door opener? If so, how much did it cost? Did the dealer install it or did you?
  8. I will be picking up my 2010 Sport next week. Like many on this site, this is my first Ford in many years. My first new car was a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. This car had many problems - the rearview mirror fell off the windshield, the rim-blow steering wheel honked whenever it wished (usually at 2am!), the clutch pedal would stick to the floor, and the most interesting of all was when the seat back disconnected as I was pushing in the clutch and I ended up almost in the backseat (thank heavens I was holding tight to the steering wheel!). I am sure glad that Ford's quality control has improved! After considering (and driving) many other cars, I feel the Fusion Sport offers a lot of car for the money. The performance is good (my other cars are a '95 Nissan 300ZX twin turbo with 34K miles and a limited production 2004 Volvo V 70R - so obviously I like performance!) and the seats are very comfortable. So far, my only concern is the cheapness of the chrome/plastic controls on the radio (has anyone found a better replacement?). As I am picking up the car next week, I would like to hear from others as to what I should look for in my pre-delivery inspection. What have you found that needed correction or adjustment?
