  1. It looks like most of you who used the expiry tactic are from US. Has anyone from Canada used that tactic successfully? My 6 month trial is up end of the month. All I have gotten so far in the mail is $15/month.
  2. Have any of you taken you Fusion with the roof mounted Antenna through an automatic car wash? I didn't notice that the mast can be removed and the owner's manual isn't much help. I don 't take my cars through car washes since in the past/present I have had with roof racks that would shed pieces if I did. And I have only washed the Fusion by hand so far.
  3. Welcome to the Sport(s)Club! The wheels btw are stock for the Sport. Edit: Oh but you know that - I just re-looked at the picture of your SEL.
  4. We had been Honda-only owners up until the Fusion. We traded in our '95 Accord EX Wagon, have had an '01 Odyssey (tranny replaced at ~105K km), a '91 Accord EX-R sedan and an '87 Acura Integra LS 3 door. Still have the Pilot EXL RES. They have all been great cars, but there have been certain weaknesses with all of them, just like I'd expect with the Fusion. The reason we chose the Fusion is that the wife wanted a V-6 (the '95 Accord was gutless) and I wanted AWD. That left only one choice in the "affordable" family car segment, since the stuffy Subaru salesman pointed that Legacys come with flat sixes, not the V-6 my wife enquired about! OK - 2 choices - Fusion SEL AWD & Sport AWD. So far we are very happy with the Sport - performance, handling, ride, space, styling, comfort and features. The only thing you may find is that it is probably less refined that the Accord, although I haven't driven the latest Accord, just sat in it. Hope this helps, and good luck with your car shopping!
  5. I can't comment on the stock GY's other than they don't look like much of an all-season tire to me. My Sport AWD came with a set of winter tires & rims. Didn't have any probs this winter, but then it wasn't much of a winter snow-wise here in Toronto.
  6. Since someone already picked the useless grocery hooks, I'll vote for the auto door locks. I've got them turned off - at least they can be disabled.
  7. Same reaction for me from some people - they think it's just a Ford, until they get inside and go for a ride. Then they are impressed.
  8. Welcome to the club. You'll really enjoy the car - like we do!
  9. The package was an incentive from Ford of Canada in Ontario - free Winter tires, rims & TPMS with the purchase of any new Fusion, Escape or Focus. They probably figured that not many Sports would be purchase as compared to the other models. They probably only ordered one size wheel/tire combo to fit all Fusions sold.

... or already dreaming of an upgrade!
  11. Mine came standard with the rear back-up camera and is chrome.
  12. I can confirm that the all black (charcoal) Sport interior has titanium-colored dash inserts instead of the blue or red inserts of the blue or red inserted seat Sport interiors. (graphite is black in color) The (Canadian, not sure about the American)website is not very clear on this though. I was releived to see that they weren't blue or red when I saw my car.
  13. There are a number of major aircraft components assembled now in Mexico to very good quality. Don't know about jet engines, but it could be just a matter of time. (I am not a Ford employee - I am in the aerospace business)
  14. I too am happy with this factory Sony system. In Canada, the Sport comes with it standard. The NAV is the only factory option over and above the basic car. I guess you guys down South have more choices to make.
  15. Love our AWD Sport. The great ride/handling compromise, quiet, power, AWD, rear camera (a real necessity since the back is so high), BLIS works great, stereo & SYNC, roomy interior, comfortable front seats, nice styling although it is a bit stealthy since it looks mostly like any other Fusion. But of course there are a few things I'd change, but I did know about most of them when I bought: - Folding mirrors - Separate switch for heating the mirrors - Better windshield mist/spray button - half the time I just want to clear the window, I get spray. - Internal fuel door release - Top dash storage lid needs to be dampened - Gas mileage is not great - Lumbar adjustment for the passenger seat Keeping fingers crossed on the reliability especially the AWD system. I hope this helps.
  16. My AWD Sport also came with 16" steel wheels & BFG Winter tires. I have no issues with them so far, other than they look pretty bland. But they were free, so I can live with it.
  17. My factory blade bounces too on the return stroke (sometimes) on the passenger side only. It is also due to not enough water on the windshield. I don't use Rain-X on it because I seem to remember it would leave very small beaded water droplets (almost like a haze) after the wipers stroke. Very difficult to see through at night with on-coming headlights. I use Rain-X on the other windows though.
  18. Hello bbf2530, I just mentioned it since that might be what was happening. The HVAC systems in Hondas do not work that way in my experience. If you turn of the A/C in defrost mode, it will stay off when you turn the car on again. Whatever HVAC settings you left it in will stay that way until you choose to change it.
  19. I have noticed that if I leave it in defrost mode the last time. When I start it again, the A/C comes on too.
  20. Snow? What snow? Mind you there was some slushy white stuff on the roads yesterday and everyone was driving realllllly slow. But the whit-covered curb lanes tended to be empty, so my progress wasn't thwarted too much.
  21. UPDATE: We had a couple of inches of wet slushy snow this morning. The AWD Sport with the BFG Winter Slaloms KSI's made it thru no problem. No hint of sliding, spinning, ... Just drove through everything. It is such pleasure accelerating from stop in a 4 wheel drive car and having zero wheel spin.
  22. I second the last 2 posters wrt to AWD. Especially the last one. The trunk opening in the new Legacy was really small - another turn off. Subaru had no deals on financing or rebates or winter tires either or "retire your ride" program. I too prefer the look of the Fusion and its features other than the fixed mirrors and the wiper stalk.
  23. Part of the reason why bought the car when I did is because Ford in Ontario had the Winter Tire package for free with a purchase of a Focus, Fusion or Escape. It came with factory TPMS sensors installed. So for me, problem solved!
  24. It is not illegal to sell a car in Canada without a block heater. None of my cars (including my 2010 Sport) have ever had block heaters.
