  1. akirby, Thanks for the reply but by description I think that's pin number 2 and my radio still works in that manner. Thanks again though.
  2. Does anyone know what the wiring for pin 15 goes to/does? The information I have shows it to be "Voltage supplied in Start"-(overload protected). I just hooked up a new Pioneer headunit with a wiring harness. However, the harness did not have wires for pin 5 (which I discovered to be the antenna booster), 18/19 which are for the steering wheel controls The harness has pin 1 (voltage supplied at all times- overload protected), pin 2 (Accesory delay relay switched output), ground and the -8- speakerwires (pins 8,9,10,11,12,21,22,23). So what function is pin 15 for? Is it only related to the factory radio? Everything seems to work fine. Any help would be appreciated as I want to make sure all items are present and accounted for. Thanks in advance for the info.

    Audio dilema

NaplesBill, In case you have not already contacted Crutchfield. They should have the items you need. I just installed a Pioneer headunit in my Milan. It came with all the required adapters, etc. (harness, antenna). I also purchased the Pac Audio SWI-PS which allowed me to retain the steering wheel controls. You can go online and check compatability by entering you car and putting the items in your cart or just give them a call. they have great Tech support. If you make the switch be sure to also connect the antenna power wire (pin 5) to turn on the antenna booster (this is something I discovered along with their help that they will now be informing customers about). Even with the harness it does require some cutting of the factory harness (or tapping into if you have all the right connectors) I actually have an extra antenna adapter in you are interested in it (cheap). Also, here is a referral code for $20.00 off $200.00 if you are spending that much Referral code: p58y4-06bvy-acju6 Good luck! Let me know if you need any pointers, I'll be glad to help if I can
  4. Does anyone know if this car has a built in antenna booster? I hooked up a new Pioneer head unit and the AM reception is non-existent. Crutchfield indicated that sometime cars with a window antenna have boosters. I have looked on my service manual DVD and I see a wire for antenna power (12v switched) and it goes to an antenna module. Anyone know for sure?
  5. OK. I have a 2006 Milan I4, vin #3MEFM07Z56R660724. It has a rattle in the dsh and the others are (seem to be) from the doors. They do not rattle from the stereo, only bad bumps. Also, how about the newest PCM update for the I4? The Fram Sure Drain is acually a plug with a valve, I think they discontinued them, but there are other compnaies that make them. The plug has a cover that you unscrew and them screw on a connector that has a hose. The connector actuates the valve to open and drain the oil. I am thinking, since I do my own oil changes that it will be easier and cleaner then dealing with the factory drain plug and the way the oil shot out of the pan. (I have no lift to work from). And yes, size is what I am looking for the one I can get is 14 x 1.5 . Thanks for any help you can be. I really appreciate it.
  6. Steve, Is there any way I can get copies of the actual TSB's for the door and dash rattles? (Ones that show the dealer fix.) I would like to see if they are something I can attempt. You know how it is with rattles and trying to locate then fix them. I t is difficult for me to pinpoint where they are coming from let alone a dealer that will probably only drive the car for 5 mins. Also, do know the spec's on the oil drain plug. I can get a Fram Sure Drain for $2.00 from Pep Boys if it is the right size. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, eiching1

    Exhaust Tips

Pep Boys sells some that should be a perfect fit for around $5.00 each made by Superior. I was there today but the store I was in only had 1 in stock (foiled again!)
