  1. I bought 2 "Floor Jack Adapter" for $5.99 ea. from www.mrtool.com. That replaces the jack pad and raises at the pinch welds. I use a rollaround jack on each side of the car. I agree still best to use jack stands.
  2. Hopefully something simple like a chunk of carbon shorting a sparkplug. May never happen again.
  3. Some new cars don't even have a spare tire. Just a special can of tire sealer.
  4. I 2nd swapping front tires. I used to do that on my Taurus's and sometimes it would be ok. If it does make a difference but now pulls the other way, swap one tire at a time with the back....
  5. On all my other Ford's you would push very hard against front of seat cushion toward rear, than pull up. Then to replace push against cushion and push down..
  6. WD-40 should soften the gum.
  7. I'm 70 and I like the cluster on my 2011. I do adjust the brightness sometimes. 20 or 70 people have different opinions. That's good so we all don't vacation at the same place...

My 2011 SE has a steel hood. I used a magnet on a paper towel to test.
  9. No, I have 2011 SE. The sel had features I didn't want and I'm happy with my $18500 price.
  10. I've got one also. It's good while your waiting to find real fords books. There was 2010 fusion hybrid manuals yesterday on E-bay, but expensive.
  11. Set up a permanent search on e-bay under 2010 fusion manual. Set "owners" as a word to block. I've seen them a few times for 2010. I have a permanent search, I have 2011.
  12. Now that I like, I'm not one to comment but that looks too damn good. :stats:
  13. Like most others my water noise has went away with the warmer weather. Even with the heater/ac controls the same. I've never had a bad shift on my 2011 SE I-4 auto. I would never consider returning it because of a water noise at startup in cold weather. I'd be afraid the next car would drop a rod. But if it bothers someone alot dump it and get on to something else. It does bother me after 40 years repairing things for a living I don't have a clue why it does this. I have read every post on water sloshing.
  14. I also have a 2011 SE. My wife is 5' 1" and had the same problem. I adjusted the seat Lumbar support Knob on the seat so that it's pushes out some. That pushed her back forward and moves her head away from the headrest. It now works fine for her. Its ok for me but I would adjust it if I was driving on a long trip. I had thought about getting other headrests from ebay. It was a careless design, no one wants to drive with headrest hitting the back of your head. P.S. I removed the rear seat headrests because we can't see out the back window, no one rides back there. I put them in the trunk and reinstall them if I have a rear seat passenger
  15. I wonder if the A/C evaporator (in dash) is covered with dirt and freezing up blocking air flow. Then the ice melts and air flows again.
  16. I just had a bad deer hit with state Farm in Michigan. I called the department that makes the decision to total or not (it was a close call) and stated I didn't want it totaled. They were very nice and said they would do they're best and they did. Couldn't hurt to let them know what you want instead of waiting.
  17. I toke 2 E-bay keys to a Ford dealer and they cut them for free. But they didn't work because they weren't cut deep enough. So I toke them to a locksmith and he redid them. He didn't want to take any money so I give him a five because I was so happy.
  18. Late Dec, 2010 I got 2011 I-4 auto basic SE on X-plan and incentives for 18,600 not including state tax and plates.
  19. I asked to put 10k on a visa card in Michigan and was told I would pay a surcharge, so I didn't.
  20. I have 2011 I-4 with auto. I do not hear sounds like you describe. I can hear the pads rub on calipers just slightly at low speeds, my hearing is very good. I don't believe the bottom of the car is soundproofed as well as past cars. The sound of water and gravel hitting rocker panels is louder than past cars.
  21. I had this happen to me on 2 Taurus's and 1 Mustang. Turned out to be fuel pump, sometimes it wouldn't turn. It wouldn't set a code. Too many other possible causes
  22. I read in Consumers Report the headlights rated good while the Taurus did not. I always had a Taurus and did not like the headlights.
  23. Maybe using a sheet of scotch Bright pad to give you some grip would help. That way you wouldn't have to squeeze the filter so hard. I will be changing mine for the first time this week (2 K miles). I have an orange colored plastic adapter to fit the stock Motorcraft filter.
  24. Any part made is subject to failure. This should be an easy and complete fix for a trained mechanic. In many cases parts like these are made by venders for many different car makes.
  25. I alway put a drop of oil around gasket and turn 3/4 to 1 turn no problem any vehicle I've had over 55 years...
