  1. Welcome to the club. I have a 2010 so mine doesn't have as much milage as yours. Belts, hoses and breaks might need to be checked though.
  2. You can kiss fuel economy goodbye.
  3. Not sure how long an investigation takes, but since that was posted near the end of January and it is now almost mid march I suspect that they didn't find anything. Beyond those few cars. Something like faulty lug nuts would have been discovered not long after the cars release, not three months into 2011. They have sold at least a few thousand of the new fusions and if this was a mass manufacturing defect with the lugs it would be huge news and would have been all over the networks months ago.
  4. Haven't heard about the lugs. Let us know if you hear anything. Decided to keep the covered steel wheels (they look awesome compared to the design of hubcaps of the past?. I like that they have openings that allow you to see parts of the calipers and rotor, giving the illusion (style) of more expensive rims. I like that they are bolt on making it next to impossible for them to fly off and get lost or stolen. They have to be ripped off and broken in the process to be stolen. It's either that or the car has to be jacked up and they have to go to the trouble of unbolting them and I just don't see anyone wasting their time to steal a 17 in steel wheel and plastic hubcap that all together wouldn't be even a fraction of what they could get for high dollar custom rims. To jaz them up I got some new chromed covers off eBay that are identical to the OEM bolt ons except these are Chrome and definitely make the wheels look very sharp and a lot more expensive than they really are! Very good quality as well. Best thing about it is that replacements are only $20 each should any of them get curb rash Vs the expense you go through with aluminum alloys. I have already got complements and most people can't tell they are just covers. They really do look sharp. People tell me all the time how great my car looks.
  5. Thanks for the idea. Believe it or not, that is actually available to me! Sounds kinda cool, but I'm still trying to come up with ideas.
  6. I think that is where you get someone to change the timing and reflash it. It will change the amount of times your engine cycles through, resulting in more air intake and more HP.
  7. I guess a key pad is good if you lock your keys in your car but I don't think it does much of anything else. As little as it is used, I'd forget the number, and if I wrote the number down, I'd forget where I put it. Personally I never liked the look of them either.
  8. Just fine here as well. If you must go through any snow (even 1-2 in) at all though then you will definitely need to invest in snow chains if you have to go up any hills or inclines. The car is just so lightweight that you can't get any traction in those situations.
  9. Nice Plate! Been trying to think of one myself but can't think of anything good. I have eight spaces to work with and a lot of stuff is already taken. Thought of GR8ONGAS and MYFUSION both of which are available but I was hoping for something cooler looking or a bit more creative. If it helps, the color of my fusion is White Suede and although the paint color would lead some to believe that it is a darker, or off white color, it is definitely very bright and grabs your attention.
  10. They certainly have improved, even in the last ten years. I bought a brand new ford mustang V6 back in 2001 off the lot that was absolutely bare bones. I mean it had nothing, no cruse control, and not many people knew what an mp3 was back then (except us computer geeks) so no mp3 playing either or aux jack. It did have a CD player but it also had a cassette tape player built in as well. It had the absolute cheapest interior I have ever seen and the dash materials and bezels that was on mine was the same in all the models (I later upgraded to a manual shift mustang GT of the same year that had all available options at that point). The coating on the bezels chipped and wore through to the black plastic material it was made of in only about a year or two and the seats were about the cheapest fabric and the leather of the GT was sub-par as well. Just very bad quality interior in a lot of their vehicles. All that has drastically improved over the years to where they are one on the top manufacturers when it comes to vehicle interior quality. Even their base model vehicles get quality that really surprised me when I decided to come back to Ford. It might not have always been the case, but Ford has become a name that their company, and we as Americans, can truly take pride in again. Some will always be naysayers and trash Ford, but the comeback for me will always be this: When all the others were begging for bail-outs Ford declined and said "No thank you. We're doing just fine.". Wise business choices is where it came from. Ford is doing a great job and I hope more people start buying American.
  11. Welcome! I also just got my fusion just before new years eve. It's also a 2010 White Suede SE. Just a few thousand miles, and I got a great deal on it. Plus with the Fusion having just went through a complete top to bottom redesign for 2010 there won't be another design change for at least a few years or more. Wanted to trade in my expensive gas guzzler and get into something that was more fuel efficient with lower monthly payments and the Fusion beats the Camry and Accord when it comes to that, and for it being the SE it still had a few rather nice options with it. It's very bright and is like driving a neon sign down the road for me. I always owned silver or darker cars but this car looks very nice and grabs your attention and I am very glad I went with it. Looks awesome. It was Motor Trends 2010 Car of the Year and the award was very well deserved. This car gets up and goes without even the slightest hesitation and looks great doing it!
