  1. the bottom is the easiest way if u have a lift. out the top isnt bad either. really not a difficult motor to swap
  2. the upper bolt should be held in my the rubber grommet only
  3. id guess a throttle body also. i do have a used one from an 08 for sale. works perfectly.
  4. if its cam tourque actuated vvt then no. the other years will work. u have to swap the valvecovers, lower plenum and fuelrail, oilpan if 2003 to 2005, and timing cover. what does the iring harness have to do with using a long block? i think thats a given.
  5. do it yourself. its very simple really yes the plenum needs to come off however not hard. you are talking 10 bolts including the egr tube and then 6 more for the coils themselves. first time u do it plan on 2 hours. after that plan on it decreasing to the point it take your 30 minutes or less.
  6. as thegreatnewyork noted.... no knock. 10:1 is high for compression however please note aluminum heads and blocks and hyperteutnic(however the heck you spell it) pistons. and we run 87 octane gas...... used to be a 10:1 motor required premium. not the case anymore and no direct injection is not the reason. does direct injection help yes but not by this huge huge margin. the quench area of the 3.0 is very resistant to detonation. thegreatnewyork is pushing the limits of what the cd3 chassis is capable of and probably knows the platform better than anyone else. -Katy
  7. yep the 3.0 most definiatly has hydralic lash adjusting lifters with roller finger followers.
  8. i recently replaced my engine in my mazda 6 with a fusion 3.0 (450 for a fusion engine and 1700 for a 6 engine) and well i now have a fusion oilpan, valvecovers, timing cover, intake manifold upper and lower, egr valve, throttle body, a complete harness minus the oil pressure sending unit pigtail, fuel rail and valve covers. i didnt even look to see if yall had a buy sell section. either way hi my names Katy i live in oklahoma with my beautiful wife and our 2 kids. i have a 2003 mazda 6 v6 mtx. headers, cai, bored throttle, maf custimizer , modified tone wheel for 7 degrees more base timing, fidanza flywheel, clutchmasters stage 2 clutch, 17x7.5 wheels wrapped in 245 45 17's megan springs, tokico shocks, racing beat sway bars, led smoked rear reflectors and led smoked side markers, and low beam hids. our cars are similar and id love to offer my knowledge anyway i can. -Katy
