  1. Just to clarify here, this is not your actual airbag. This is simply a thin vinyl like material that they wrap the dash pad with. The glue that holds this top, cosmetic layer down, is simply coming loose. This is no way, shape, or form means that your airbag may deploy unexpectedly. This is purely cosmetic. This is not a safety issue whatsoever. Does it look bad? Sure it does. But that alone will not force Ford to repair, or replace components when your vehicle is no where near being covered my the 3 year - 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty. For example, my Cadillac DeVille dash started to do this as well. The car is over 10 years old. I didn't go back to my Cadillac dealership and demand that it was a safety issue, and that I wanted it fixed under warranty; Because there is no way that there is even a micrometer of warranty left on that car. I pulled the dash pad off, and glued the cosmetic layer back down, and all is well.
  2. I agree with the above post. I replaced my OEM set of Michelins with the same thing that came off, Energy Saver A/S. They handle great, and seem to be an all around good tire. They cost more, but you get what you pay for.
  3. Well, so far so good. I have checked the torque a few times just to make sure everything is ok, and they've been staying tight.
  4. I am in the same boat. Removed all seasons on alloy OEM wheels for the winter season, and decided not to get sensors for the steel wheels my snow tires are mounted on. When I start the car I get a message in the DIC that says Tire Pressure Monitor Fault. I just have to hit the Reset button on the steering wheel for the message to go away. The light being on all the time doesn't bother me, I know why it's on, and know that the pressures are fine.
  5. I ended up getting the set the tire shop supplied. I made a few phone calls, and checked the part number of the wheel with a few other sources, and they all said that was the correct wheel. I put them on, and rechecked the lug torque the next day, all still tight. I guess this will work.
  6. I'll have to look around and try to find an OEM set of steel wheels.
  7. I figured they were a universal wheel. I told them to forget it and keep them. I just replaced the OEM Michelin Energy Savers a few months back. I'll just run them through the winter, and deal with this next season.
  8. Hi everyone. I'm trying to get a set of steel wheels to run some snow tires on for my Fusion. Our local tire shop got me a set that measure 17x6.5. The issue I'm having is the gap around the center hole of the wheel and the lip of the hub. There's about 1/16" of space. Is that okay? Also, it seems like I would need some new lug nuts. The lugs from my 17" alloys don't really seem to seat down like they should.

The flashing engine light indicated an engine misfire. Shouldn't be related to the tire.
  10. I'm pretty sure this is a taper bearing setup. If you pop off the cap in the center of the hub, there should be a nut of some sort under there with a cotter pin holding it in place. I haven't had any apart on this model and generation Fusion/Milan, so this may not be exactly the case, but I'm 99.9% sure there is no sealed hub setup, but rather a taper bearing.
  11. Maybe that's what she was referring to then. Not really sure
  12. I didn't really get what the Sync rep meant by that either, but she told me that only the dealership has the ability to perform this specific update. I haven't had any issues since.
  13. That's the thing. According to the website, my Sync software is up to date. It says I have no updates available. It wasn't until I called Sync support to resolve an issue, that I was told I had an update for my Sync system. I asked if I could do this update myself, and I was told no, the vehicle needs to be plugged into IDS to be updated. I asked the rep where it stated that I had an update, and they said if my dealer looks over my Oasis report, they would be able to see that there is an available update. I was told that it is a dealer only update, and that's why the Sync support site says its all up to date.
  14. Yes, they told me the version numbers, not that I remember them right now. They were pretty far apart. I called another dealership and they confirmed that there was an update available, but it wasn't shown in its usual location on Oasis.
  15. Thats the thing. The Sync support site says its up to date. My dealer also says its up to date. However, Ford support is telling me that I have an update that is shown on Oasis, that the rep can see. She also said any dealership that looks at the Oasis would be able to see that it clearly states that there is an update. I asked why the Sync site says its up to date, and the response I got is that its a dealer only update.
  16. Anyone that has the ability to do so, want to run an Oasis report for me so I can get to the bottom of this Sync update thing? It would be greatly appreciated.
  17. Hi. I had an issue yesterday with my iPhone not wanting to respond to steering wheel hang up commands, and other communication issues with Sync. I called the 800 number, and they had me do a master reset which took care of all the issues I was having. While on the phone, the rep told me I had an update for Sync. I had the car at the dealership today, and they told me that the Oasis report said that everything was up to date. So, I went back to the Sync website, and chatted with a rep, that told me he was looking at the Oasis report, and it clearly showed that there was an available update, and that I should go back to the dealership and have them check again because they clearly made a mistake. I was wondering, does anyone have access to get these Oasis reports, where I can "clearly see" that it states that there is an update for my vehicle? Thanks!
  18. I just had mine replaced under the extended warranty. I'll go out and look at the sticker in a few and let you know what part number is on my car.
  19. Does it say Sony on the dash under the radio? I'm not sure if you could upgrade an SE to have Sony audio... Could you?
  20. I've seen some dealerships wait until the purchase time, and if the customer wants the vehicle to be certified, than they will try to charge additional money to have the certification done. Most times, this just means the sales manager checks off all the green boxes, and forges a signature on the technician line, and there ya go. Certified pre owned.
  21. Is the caliper hanging up? Did you have to put forth a lot of effort to get the piston to retract? Try jacking up that corner of the vehicle and spin the wheel by hand, can you see/hear anything abnormal?
  22. My car has the foil wrap around that suction line too. I'd think it was factory insulation.
  23. They do make one for the 3L V6? The only one I've seen is for the 3.5.
  24. Looked at my trunk lid today, and noticed the paint starting to bubble right at the point where that trim meets the trunk lid on each side. I may pull that trim off soon and see what it looks like underneath and make sure it doesn't go up and under that panel. Of course, since there's no perforation, it's not covered under warranty.
  25. I agree. Just order it through your local dealership. It may take longer, but it'll have 400 less miles, and no hail damage. To me, well worth the wait.
