Mine would turn the wipers on by itself for the last 10 years. No known interval or reason, whenever it feels like it. Sometimes even when i start the car. I've also had them be on full when on intermittent setting.

He just made up that number. I see the stop start as more of a nuisance than anything. Never mind the wear and tear on the starter, battery. Any saving are trivial and i can bet can not even be measured on your mpg gauge. If you are worried about a tiny fraction of saving, buy a smaller car with a smaller motor.

Bleeder port, just block it.

When i see answers like, turn the vehicle off then restart, and it seems to fix it, it tells me you have a elec glitch somewhere. Try cleaning the battery terminals, new battery, add extra grounds (which i do to all my ford vehicles). I also thought there was some sensor in the column that got intermittent but to replace it you had to have a software flash to calibrate it?

I wouldn't go 225, too big, the stock size is 205/60/16 and the winter tire selection is good. I've never had a problem with 4 snows unless there is 12" inches of snow and the car is pushing it.

Dielectric grease, or tune-up grease, is a silicone-based grease that repels moisture and protects electrical connections against corrosion. ... The grease does not conduct electricity, so it shouldn't be applied directly to the mating surfaces (pins and sockets) of an electrical connection.

Original battery? May be going bad.

Original battery? It may be going bad.

These years are known to have wiper bugs. Mine used to turn on while driving when not touching anything. Also they use to stay on when in intermittent mode. Take your battery terminals off and clean them. I also run a extra ground wire from the negative to the body or fender. Seems if i drive it everyday, it does not have these bugs, so i am guessing it is voltage related.

Battery monitoring system will reset itself if the car is left untouched after 8 hours. Or 10, or 12, something like that. A search should find the answer.

2.3 2.5 are known to have valve problems after a lot of miles. You need to have a compression check done to check for internal wear. If one cylinder is low you need to have the head rebuilt.

There is a forum more oriented towards 2 generation.

I have read the block is different? Not sure.

That's what i thought. There is no way a 194 would be a drl. They are used for old style marker lights and are no way bright enough.
-
Um, my 6 speed does not clunk and any manual trans i ever owned does not clunk. You need to check the cv joints, sway bar links etc. Something is bad and it's not going to get better. Motor mounts also need to be checked.
-
From what i can tell, it uses the headlight bulb dimmed to be a drl.

Ford is not the only maker with this problem.

If the light came on when it was cold outside, you are low on air pressure. That being said, my 2012 i have snows with sensors and once i trained them to the car, i do not have to retrain once i put the summer tires back on. So i guess it does remember 2 sets of sensors.

Well, to quote you, the width is not the same. 55 series is narrower than a 50 series. 1/2 inch taller is nothing. How do you know your speedometer of off 3%? Once you put a different size tire than is recommended from the manufacturer you are asking for trouble. From both a handling point and insurance point. Just put the correct size tire on there and forget about it, it is not 1960 anymore. 3% is less than 2miles per hour on your speedometer at 65. Maybe your tires are bald.
-
Umm, open up the drivers side door, the tire sizes are marked there, since a long time ago. Geeze.
-
Stock 16" are 205/60/16.
-
I would consider myself insane if i paid:
"$275 per tire out the door"
Tirerack, Discount tire direct, etc.
-
Change the air filter if it has been a awhile. Also try disconnecting the battery and let the motor relearn a few parameters. If the old plugs are NGK, that's what i would replace them with, not Motorcraft.
-
Motorcraft are the second most expensive shocks on Rockauto. I'g go Gabriel, good reviews and a better price.

Went to the local Napa and i wanted 2 -10 packs to change them all today, they didn't have them. I started to take it apart to measure the length. Correct part, for my 2012 is Dorman 610-468 length of 1.72" or listed as 43.6mm. Ordered from Amazon and paid for fast shipping. Oh well. Project for early next week and i can drive the Mustang to work for a few days.
The original recall was for 2010-2011, mine is one of the last ones of this body style built in June of 2012. Factory alloys, but i bought aftermarket steel rims from Tirerack for the snows. I don't really see how steel rims cause a problem and alloys don't. Even only one broke i am changing them all. I was using a 4way wrench with only my hands when it snapped trying to take it off.
