I bought a Ford fusion that the owner had lost all the keys and remotes for. It was 2008 with a blown engine so I got it for real cheap. The first thing I did was call a locksmith to make new keys and he did and the keys both work. After doing so the owner told me it had a factory remote start. So when I bought new remotes I bought a new remote start remote as well based on the remote start p/n that I found under the dash. Swapped the engine out and programmed the remotes the doors unlocked just fine the car fires up just fine with the keys. When in press the remote start button i just get a little red theft light on the instrument cluster. What can I do to get this working. With temperatures below zero from November to March it woul be great to get this working. Will the remote start module in the car need to be reprogrammed is it possible I got a bad remote. (I know it is sending a signal because it sets off the theft warning light). I programmed it per a instructional YouTube video and before I did it did nothing. Thanks people

Thanks frank, I swapped out the 2.3 with a 2.5 in my 2007 fusion using the throttle adapter plate but am getting a code for the intake tuning that was deleted because of the fact that the 2010 intake doesn't have intake tuning. It runs like factory besides a ruff idle while stopped in drive. How did you manage to keep the computer from faulting the intake tuning valve? Thanks any help would be great appreciated. -nick

I have a 2008 2.3 that has the same problem. Calling it a vibration some people might think so what but this is not normal. If you take the rh front wheel off take the wheel well cover off chalk the tires parking break engaged turn it on in park it is obvious drive way worse. The belt tensioner is going almost to it's limits. I changed both engine mounts when I bought the car at 115000 they were shot. Most likely from the vibe not the other way around.. The engine was leaking like a fomoco mofo and loosing oil I replaced it with a 2010 2.5. the problem followed. Wtf. I used the 2010 intake and the 2008 throttle also all the 2008 sensors. So what the what people. I also changed the tensioner because It seemed played out. This makes me think transmission or sensor. I've went through the vac lines as well. Also No engine codes.
