  1. When I was at the dealer yesterday one of the guys behind the front desk came up and told me that he had ordered a FFH just after me and that he hadn't gotten his yet either. Mine was finished on May 21. 2 1/2 weeks from production to pick-up; seems to be some room for process improvement in there somewhere don't you think?

  2. I ordered mine on March 30th and I picked it up today. Grey with black interior, with 502A package.

Wasn't much negotiation on the price - MSRP. Living in CT - there is no sales tax for vehicles with more than 40 mpg.

    This vehicle is totally amazing!!

That's what I got! Picking it up Monday. I ordered on 3/31. I did sit in it today but could not take it home because it hasn't been prepped. :waiting:

  3. I read an article written June 1 on SmartMoney that explained the stimulus bill has made it possible for folks affected by the AMT to claim the hybrid tax credit in 2009. I also found this quote:

In the past, though, taxpayers who were subject to the alternative minimum tax were ineligible for the hybrid tax credit. In addition, some taxpayers who were close to the threshold for the AMT saw the amount of their credit reduced.

However, a clause in the stimulus bill allows taxpayers who are subject to the AMT to claim the credit, starting this year, says Amy McAnarney, executive director of H&R Block's Tax Institute. The credit, which is scheduled to expire at the end of 2010, can't exceed your tax liability, she says.

I hope this is true as I just ordered a Fusion Hybrid and I fear I will be trapped by the AMT again this year.

Wow! Great news. Here's a link to the article in USA Today:

    http://www.usatoday.com/money/perfi/column...fficiency_N.htm

I've been concerned about AMT ever since I ordered my FFH on Mar 31 to qualify for the $3400 credit. It should be at my dealer tomorrow :headspin:

  4. The Fusion Hybrid should cost LESS to maintain than a regular Fusion.

    ...

    - The Fusion Hybrid uses 87-octane regular gas. You don't use higher octanes because the Atkinson-cycle engine leaves their valves open longer, so you DO NOT want the delayed combustion characteristics of the higher-octane fuel. And 87-octane is cheaper.

Quincy, can the FFH use E85?

  5. I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid on order, but did not order the 502A package that has the Navigation System in it. Does anyone know if you can had the dealer add it and any idea how much it would cost? I can't swap the car with the dealer because they will not give me the same $500 over invoice on anything that is not ordered and I am not giving up the $3400 tax rebate.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Hey Jim, can't you just change the order? I changed my order - changed the color from Atlantis Green to Sterling Gray.

  6. What a great achievement. I can just imagine the disappointment whenever the ICE started, but you have to charge the battery some time. I hope someone reports the factors that contributed to this accomplishment.

Can't wait to see the commercials.

Mom just got back in Sparky from taking the granddaughter to her piano lesson and reported 42.6 mpg. It now has about 60 miles on it. :happy feet: :happy feet:

So Grey, tell us more about "Sparky".

I think I named mine "Mabel" when I signed up at the Sync website.

  7. So what other devices are available? I assume line-in or similar. Is bluetooth available as a media device for anything other then your phone? I am wondering with my 501a package (on the way) if a portable GPS with A2DP blue tooth could connect? It would be nice to be able to integrate a portable GPS with sync for the maps.

    Jim

I paired my BlackBerry Pearl with a 2009 Fusion during a test drive and was able to stream from the BB media player to Sync. It was really cool! Put a big smile on my face. I may not even use Sync's USB port. More and more media devices are coming out with Bluetooth stereo support (eg iPhone V3, Samsung P2/P3, BlackBerry).

If your GPS is a source for BT audio, it will definitely connect to Sync.

  8. You can turn off the prompts so it only says what device you are using (IE USB, Blue tooth auto, Phone) when you press media button. After you turn off prompts it will not reiterate what you said. IE:

    prompts on:

    Press media

    Sync: USB

    You: Play artist Celine Dion

    Sync: Playing Celine Dion

    Music then plays

    Prompts off:

    Press media

    Sync: USB

    You: Play artist Celine Dion

    Music then Plays

    :shift:

Cool. Does it say "Yes Dave" too? ;-)

  9. It knows it's raining, similarly to rain sensing wipers.

Actually if the moonroof is open or if any of the windows are down and the car is parked, the rain sensor will close them automatically.

I wouldn't say it looked black but it is very dark. They did the same thing last year with dark ink blue. Probably should be one shade lighter.

Ironically the Tuxedo Black has a lot of green in it. Go figure

It knows its raining? I didn't think the FFH had rain sensing wipers.

This post shows how the Atlantis Green looks in sun and in shade. In shade it looks black to me.

  10. Well it gets hooked up to the same exact spots (I have the 2010 Ford service manual DVD) so actually it works even better and has a ton more features, like it will tell you the temperature of the inside of the car (which is really nice in the winter) and it will automatically turn on your heated seats, etc,... The Ford PATS system will still be in effect, mostly acting as a backup system.

I'm going to set mine up to first open the moonroof (to let all of the summer heat out of the car) for a minute and then close it again and turn on the air conditioning. If it's raining then the moonroof will stay closed. In the winter it will automatically turn on the rear window defroster, heat the seats, etc...

The factory alarm has a 1 year warranty. The Viper has a 3 year warranty. The Ford alarm is around 315.00. The Viper system is around 250.00. I think the Viper remotes also look much, much nicer too, plus they have many more channels to hook up other accessories.

    remotes.png

Wow that looks really cool. How does it control all those functions? Is it a standard interface to the car? Will the Ford dealer install it? How much is install? Can you program it yourself?

  11. When I ordered by 2010 FFH, I added the remote start option. My dealer noted that in the past, this was always a dealer-installed option, but that with the 2010 models, it was (to his surprise) a factory installed option.

Since my car has not yet arrived, just wondering if any current owners of any 2010 Fusion paid for this option and how "integrated" it is into the vehicle (vs. some system you'd get from Best Buy). Specifically, I'm thinking about starting the car when it's sitting in sweltering sunlight 5 min. before I leave work just to get the air going through the car. I know this is not "green" behavior, but otherwise I sweat like a rock star and smell even worse after my 25 min. ride home.

Wow thanks for posting that. I want remote start but assumed the dealer would install it. Are you sure?
