  1. I'm sitting at 11,5XX miles on my '09 I4 Fusion SE and I'm very happy with it! No problems even hauling my motorcycle from Cincinnati, OH to Nashville, TN (5 1/2 hr drive). My only grip is I would like some more power... But I just had to have the 5speed
  2. Hey guys thought I would toss up some pictures of everything I have more but photobucket is being stupid! I'll be sure to toss them up later! Picture of the drivers side mount with holes drilled. Picture is of the drill bit I used. I was able to drill all 4 holes without issue!
  3. On our cars (or any car IMO) throttle body spacers wouldn't make a noticeable difference. I personally cant see how a 1-2 inch piece of "swirled" aluminum is going to change the airflow enough or add enough volume to have an effect. I was able to google it while I'm bored as hell here at work.. With graphs of before and after: http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4571 I wouldn't spend your hard earned money on it! But to each their own I suppose.
  4. I vote go for HD radio, you get a lot more of crystal clear channels for FREE! I'm looking to change out my sat radio for HD if I can find the part number again from ford. I found it awhile back but now I cant for the life of me! -Danny
  5. I hear that Mazda 6 and 3 style shift knobs fit our cars but dont quote me. I have gotten used to the stock knob but eventually I think I'll look into replacing it. I would like to keep the stock look with everything so it might take some searching. -Danny Yes sir I have an '09 and it worked just fine. The gear boxes seem to be the exact same 06-09 and you'll love the bracket! Be sure to toss up your impressions here or in another thread! -Danny
  6. I have ordered from their site before but I have not ordered any tunes from them. I would recommend giving them a call or sending them an email, their customer service is pretty good. From what I have heard the tunes come preloaded in the tuner for the upgrades you purchased but don't quote me. Their CAI sits where the factory box sits (Steeda breaths MUCH better though) so you will not have any issues with water splashing or anything. But if you did have an intake that was down low, they make bags that go over the filter to repel water and I haven't heard any issues with them.. Hope I was helpful and be sure to post up a review of the products if you can! Maybe a dyno sheet? -Danny
  7. Save yourself the money and attempt to do it yourself! Intakes are easy and straightforward to do if your feeling up to it.
  8. Here you go: "The Sport Appearance Package offers more than just looks, as the suspension is sport-tuned with different shocks and spring rates and 18-inch aluminum wheels on P225/45R18 performance tires." - Steeda's suspension products are also top notch. I would give them a look if you are wanting to upgrade! Steeda Suspension Package

  10. Hey everybody, A couple weeks ago I purchased a leftover '09 Fusion Manual I4 with the sports package and all that good stuff. I have to say that this is one of the nicest cars I have owned so far! The car has lots of cargo space, great MPG, decent suspension (with sports package), and enough spunk under the hood to enjoy back roads. The only thing that struck me as odd was how ford decided to put "FUSION" smack in the middle of the dash... I guess to remind me what kind of car I bought? Who knows. But back to the topic: The only complaint I had about the fusion was its god awful shifter! The throw was huge and to me was just mush all the way around.. So I started looking around for short shifters to liven things up a bit and I found the "Steeda Short Throw Shifter Bracket". My family has been dealing with Steeda for years for mustang parts, so I knew they made quality parts with excellent customer service. I went ahead and ordered the Upgrade Kit (includes metal bushings) for $64.95. I ordered the kit while I was at work on night shift, when I came home I had an email with tracking number for the kit already. I received the package 4 days later via UPS and quickly tore it open. First impressions of the packaging was top notch as everything was boxed and labeled appropriately with no damage to any of the parts. Package contents: Directions to install kit Small thick plastic bag with bushings Small thick plastic bag with short shifter bracket Steeda Catalog Copy of invoice The directions were very straightforward and included black and white photos of each step which made installation a breeze! I'm confident that even the most mechanically challenged will find this doable . Tools that I used: Allen Keys (cant remember sizes off hand) Small Crescent Wrench (Adjustable wrench) After I installed the bushings and bracket to the directed places and putting the console back together I went ahead and went for a spin. The difference is night and day compared to stock!!! Shifts now have much more feeling and connection to the gear box but did not make shifting knotchy as with most short shifters. Steeda's website states that you will get an "over a 30% shorter throw" which I cant verify exactly but regardless is MUCH shorter then stock. If you are concerned about your warranty, the bracket is very simple to uninstall/reinstall. In total it took me about 10min being VERY careful installing everything the first time.. I would highly recommend this relatively inexpensive upgrade to anyone if you are looking to liven up your standard shift fusion!
  11. Transmission coolers are another thing that I was wondering about.. Are they necessary for manual transmissions? I have always heard of folks installing larger or just putting them on automatic cars but never really anything for standard shifts. I'm making a trip to TN July 17-19 and I'm still a little worried about towing distances..
  12. this is funny stuff haha Gotta ask how you found out he was a scammer?? Not saying he isn't because I'm convinced, but how did you find the exact item description and everything? Wild :beerchug:
  13. Any updates on the towing capacity/experiences with the I4 Fusions? I recently bought a left over '09 I4 manual fusion and I'm looking to install a hitch to tow my motorcycles to/from track and road trips. I would be towing about 1500lbs at the absolute most with the bikes weighing 450 lbs each(being rather liberal) + weight of the trailer and gear. I did a search around but all of threads are rather old. I'm sure the car is more then capable of towing a bike or two but I would like to know about any experiences good/bad anyone has had. Any update would be appreciated! -Danny
