How would you fix if they're out of sync? That seems like a likely possibility to me but not sure how to fix .. ac isn't my strongest area to say the least.

Sorry for the delay (toddlers). Yes dual zone air. Where's the cabin air filter? That's a good idea. I can snake a borescope in and look around.... I've only had the car for about a year and minimal time to do much more than drive it. I can give a little more info. I did a low side pressure check (don't have high side fitting hoses for 134a) Charge level is fine. All fan modes (def, floor, panel, max, etc) seem to work as designed and change back and forth when controls are toggled. Driver side is ice cold Passenger side air ranges between warm and cool (possibly with compressor function), and has maybe 15% lower air delivery than driver side. Rear vent air varies between warm and hot to the touch. As mentioned I can see the actuators moving, but I tried a couple of ac module reset schemes that I found online (pull fuse, and hold power+defrost controls) to no effect).. I took a roughly 20 minute drive yesterday (85 deg ambient) and left the ac on max, with both side t-stats on Low and the fan on high. Even on recirc for that amount of time the rear never cooled down and the passenger side was probably ~15 degrees (estimate... I need to dig my thermometer out) warmer than the driver side.

So it seems like failed blend door actuators are a fairly common problem on these cars... But I'm stumped here. Best I can tell, everything is working as it should in terms of the actuators, I can hear and feel things changing as I activate different zones, change fresh to recirc etc using the dash controls. I've visually confirmed motion on the two actuators behind the glove box (but not the one under the driver side of the dash... ran out of time). But the passenger side AC and I believe the rear vents blow hot no matter what the temperature says its set at on the dash, and the airflow seems to be a little weaker than the driver side as well if that gives any hing. Driver side works as normal. I have a spare actuator but I'm not convinced this is the problem. Can anyone suggest other possible causes for unresponsive passenger AC temperature? Thanks!

That's elegant. Thanks for the info. I really need to find time to learn more about this car.

Thanks for the confirmation. I haven't had the car for long and was initially worried about a hidden intermittent issue. The battery is still looking like the most common culprit though. With no codes or anything that's where I'm starting.... On a related note, does anyone know if the Regen braking also charges the 12v battery?

I posted this to the ffh specific forum and didn't get any response. Hopefully someone here can help... A few mornings ago, my ffh shut down as I approached an intersection and wouldn't restart, at least not enough immediately. The cluster would light up with all the engine and drivetrain warnings, but that's it. So I flipped on the hazards and got out to check. Along with no drivetrain power, the hazards weren't working (dash indicator was working and the lights on the mirrors were blinking, but no corner flashers). I did a little poking and prodding under the hood and shortly after lightly tugging a few of the harnesses I noticed the hazards had come on (I don't believe the movement of the harness was related to the lights coming on at this point, but could be wrong) so I tried the key again and the car started and ran normally.... Trying to get it sorted before the next family road trip and any advice is appreciated. Here's what I know for sure. It was 15F when the shutdown occurred. And the car had driven ~1 mi since a cold start after being outside overnight. The 12v battery is about 4y old and today a battery test showed it "is good but needs a charge. The alternator is working properly. The hybrid battery was over half charged when the shutdown occurred. The day before, I got an error on the Right side dash screen that said it had "temporarily lost contact with touch screen" (I don't believe the car has a touch screen anywhere).... Any ideas on where to look next? I suspect the battery but am not sure yet.

My '14 fusion hybrid is an ex fleet vehicle and not highly optioned. For the most part I'm okay with that but the lack of gauges or engine information is maddening. IId love to upgrade the right hand dash display to show something more than just a compass or efficiency leaves. Is there any way to add or unlock other options for this panel, or any other elegant options for adding gauge that doesn't sound involve going old school with stand along gauge pods? Thanks

So about a week and a half after getting my new to me 14 fusion SE hybrid, it has started making an occasional brief (~1 sec) grinding noise the first time I put it into gear after startup. I'd sounds like a noisy actuator or solenoid... Almost abs motor like .... And seems to be coming from below the shifter area. My only real clue is that the weather has cooled down recently..... Its only happened a few times so far but sounds ominous. Any suggestions on what it could be will be greatly appreciated!

I just bought a '14 fusion SE hybrid that has this exact issue. The seller (one man dealer) said he's seen it before and replace my the speaker always fixed the problem. Listening to it I was suspicious it might be a loose wire vibrating against the door when the engine runs. If it really is speaker noise maybe its a grounding or rf interference issue? Has anyone solved this problem without going to non oem speakers?

Hi all. I recently picked up a '14 se hybrid with about 100k miles. As with any used car I'm slowly discovering the many little imperfections it has. Some are familiar, but this being my first hybrid, a few are a bit mysterious to me and I'm looking forward to getting a few expert opinions, or at least some guidance on what to expect. I'll be posting questions in the appropriate forums as time allows over the next few days. Thanks!
