  1. I haven't purchased the 6.0 update, but I did buy the 5.1 update last summer & it was 4 CDs; 2 for the maps & Gracenote data and 2 labeled "Software Application Update". The software updates didn't include any obvious changes, though, it seemed to be all behind-the-scenes stuff. It's possible the changes were only those required to read the new databases.
  2. I don't think that's necessary. I started my updates on the way home from work today. I took the long way home, so it would have plenty of time to finish the software update (since you can't turn the car off until that's complete). By the time I arrived home, the software update was finished and the map update had been running for about an hour & was at 35%. I parked it in the garage & shut it off just like any other day. Several hours later, I jumped in the car to run a quick errand, and a few seconds after starting it I was prompted for the second map update disc & the status was at 51%. So it appears that it continued to work on the update while the car was shut off. The battery wasn't noticably affected. When I got back home from my errand the status was at 57%. After another hour of sitting in the garage shut off it's up to 80%, so I expect it'll be done about hour from now. So, to make a long story short, once the map update gets to 5% you can shut off the car & walk away while the update runs unattended (other than to swap discs after a couple hours). A few other observations: The software update took about half an hour (so taking the long way home turned out to be an unnecessary precaution for me). It spent only a few minutes reading the first disc, and all of the remaining time was on the second disc. The touch screen is not usable during either update, except as needed by the update (such as entering the license key). I wasn't able to use the radio while the software update was running, but I could use it during the map update. The volume control buttons on the steering wheel worked, but the channel change buttons did not - I had to use the center console buttons to change radio channels. I didn't try any of the other media options, I assumed they would not work without the touch screen. The environmental controls didn't seem to be affected by either update.
  3. I think you're right, I haven't found a way to navigate back out of a song that's currently playing without going all the way down through the menu system again. I always thought it was a mistake on their part not to have the artist & album names be selectable buttons.
  4. Thanks for posting that, I was starting to think about calling Navteq to see what happened to my order.
  5. It looks like they've finally updated the maps for 2010 & later Fusions, new version is 5.1.
  6. I think it's in case you want to use an external bluetooth adapter. The external adapter uses this input to tell the head unit to switch to the external audio input. Take a look at the "Bluetooth Ready" section of this web page discussing the Clarion VZ409 head unit. In your case, it sounds like you don't need it, so I'd just cover the end of that wire with a bit of tape or something.
  7. DRL = Daytime Running Lights which I thought was standard on the Fusion, maybe I better check & see if mine are on
  8. AC would be my first guess, though I haven't looked to see exactly where it's located under the hood. If you've been using the Defrost or Floor/Defrost settings, that automatically turns on the AC (to dehumidify the air), so it may be running even though you didn't select it.
  9. What's on your mind?

  10. To delete the current Home, press the DEST button & then select: Standard Address Book Home Delete I don't recall exactly how to create a Home point, you either get that option when you create a new waypoint or else you have to go into the address book after creating the point & designate it as being Home.
  11. It sounds like you might be making the same mistake I did when I got my cargo net. There is a bolt on each side of the trunk with a plastic cap sticking through the carpet, pointing in towards the center of the trunk. Those aren't the ones you want, as you discovered those bolts are too small for the anchor. The bolts you want are buried under the carpet, they're attached to the back of the tail lights and point towards the front of the car. You have to cut the carpet to get them to stick through so you can attach the anchors for the net.
  12. The net I bought fit just fine. Ordered it through Ford's website & picked it up at the dealer.
  13. I just checked the Navteq site & I'm not getting that message anymore, they're now offering map updates for 2007 - 2009 Fusions. I guess they worked out whatever issues they were having with Ford.
