I kick the hood release handle half the time when I get out.

Thanks for the link. I wonder if this meant they break when being torqued, or while the car is in motion. For the service techs- when they break during final torquing, is it with a snap or do they just "grease" off?

Received an email this morning saying they are available. So far prices range from 750 to 970. Magnaflow's site says they have 33 in stock.

I believe you've got it. I took it out on 84 and after a few miles at higher speeds it went away.

Rotated the tires on my 2010 Sport (10K miles). Now the car has a vibration at 50-60 MPH. Not RPM or gear sensitive, happens going straight or turning, dry or wet road. All lugs torqued, and pressures equal and correct. Anyone else experience this or have suggestions? Thanks.

Thoughts on Oil
fus1on replied to roblax13's topic in Maintenance, Recalls and TSB (Technical Service Bulletins)
I use Motorcraft 5w-20 blend. One of the less expensive oils at Wally-World, and I can use in in my Patriot as well. -
Now who'd post their real license plate??

What I learned in case of runaway Fusion

Ditto on the hood release in my 2010. I have kicked it a few times and released it to the first stage. And yes, you can release it while in motion. The dash warning light does say it's open. -
Just couldn't wait. Soaked the remaining letters, the dealers stencil, and the AWD/Sport tags with Mostenbackers Lift-Off for 10 minutes, and stripped all with 10 pound monfiliament line. Looks OK with some wax over the areas.

Thanks for the replies. True, they are falling off unexpectedly, however, two guys at work suggested I use either fishing line or dental floss and finish the job. I'll try it Wednesday at work. The dealers sticker was already on the car and they claimed it wasn't easily removable.

Anyone else have the chrome letters on the trunk falling off? For years I tried to get the letters off of other cars using hairdryers, IR lamps, solvents. Now, finally in 2010, Ford introduces self removing letters. Couple more to go, and the trunk is clean!!

USB stops playing after starting fusion in the morning

My 2010 Sport does the "gauge dance". I saw this first on a few trucks my department bought 4-5 years ago. The rep said it was a test function, and normal. That's how i figured it on the Fusion. -
It has to be mileage based. My wife has an 07 HHR. It has 7500 miles on it and both times I had to change the oil with 60% of "life". This was at the recommended 12 month interval. I expected the meter to zip to "0" at the 12 month mark, but it didn't. Guess it ain't that smart!

Fuel economy after you break the engine in

2010 AWD Sport here. 22.5 lifetime average with 3700 miles on the car. -
Thanks. I'll try it in a day or two.

I don't know if the 2010 has OBD2 or what. If it does, I feel inclined to plug in a spare ScanGauge and compare the "bars" to the gauge. Secondly, where is the diagnostic port?

I went from a PT to the Fusion S/AWD. It was a huge step up! The only people that question my choice are in my age bracket (over 55). The answer is easy. Why not buy from a company you've invested in? I did consider an Audi AWD but I felt the Ford's price was more than fair.

Don't know what state you're in but, I just got mine in PA. Some of the others I considered were BLU-OVAL, FOM1OCO, FO1RD. Wish I had access to an "already taken" list.

I've driven them on packed gravel, asphalt and concrete roads with freezing rain to 6 inches of new snow. I'm happy with AWD and the factory supplied "all season" tires.
