  1. The wrench light can be any number of things. For me, it was a bad cooling fan for the hybrid battery pack in the trunk.
  2. I bought my FFH in October 2010. I didn't may much attention to the overall MPG at the time, mostly because winter was approaching and I knew to expect a decline in avg MPG. By the Fall of 2011, I had the overall MPG up to 37.8. At the lowest point this winter it was down to 31.3, even though it's been a mild winter here in Minne"snow"ta. The weather is starting to warm, and I am slowly inching back up. Lately it's been hovering around 31.6 - 31.7. I have approximately 14.5k miles on the odometer. I realize that the more miles I have on the car, the longer it will take to raise the overall MPG. I will report back in a few months before the inevitible slide into winter begins again! Love my FFH and I hope you all love yours as much!
  3. Funny, I get pissed when a trip is like 32 mpg. Then I realize, DUH! I just got 32 mpg! Haha!
  4. I am 6 feet, 2.25 inches tall, and weigh in at 250. Shoes are size 13/14 (depending on brand). I have absolutely no problem fitting into my FFH. It's roomy and comfortable, plenty of leg room (I actually have to pull the seat forward). Plenty of head room as well.
  5. The owners manual clearly states to NOT use cruise control for the first 1,000 miles. That's the extent of break-in instructions.
  6. If you have a VIN number, you can try to see the sticker by going to this link and putting in the VIN number at the very end: http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=
  7. Paying $312.50 a month (I factored in the downpayment) is probably NOT a good deal. After 24 months, you have nothing and have to get another car.
  8. My family is so impressed with my 2010 FFH that my sister's family just bought a 2011 Fusion SE. Both of us were hard core Toyota owners and we've switched.
  9. Couldn't say why they were so deeply discounted other than what's already been mentioned, sitting on the lot for 3 months. There were 30 miles on the odo when I took my test drive. Checked CarFax and AutoCheck - both clean.
  10. I cannot compare the Fusion Traction Control with Subaru, but I can compare it to my last car, a Toyota Solara convertible. That car had traction control and vehicle stability control and it worked well, almost too well. What I mean by that is that it came on so often during the snowy months. By contrast, my Fusion has better overall control in the snow, and the traction control works well and seems to come on less often than in the Toyota. Congrats on the new ride, and enjoy your Fusion!
  11. Yes, they had marked the car down $1,500 over the course of 10 days (I was watching the price on the internet) down to $25,999. Called them up and they said no further negotiation on price as it was already well below invoice. I agree, I got an amazing deal.
  12. If you're bringing in a lot of snow & slush to the car, that humidity has nowhere to go unless you dry it out. So naturally it will condense on the windows.
  13. $25,999 was the dealer price, regardless of my trade-in. This was in mid-October and the car had been sitting on the lot for 3 months.
  14. I'd love to vote in the poll, but there are no options for UNDER invoice. I bought a 2010 FFH for $25,999 with the 502A package. My guess is that's about $3,500 to $4,000 BELOW invoice. Tax, license, extended warranty brought it up to approx $28,999.
  15. Service department said there's nothing wrong with them, attributes the squeaking to rusty rotors which subsides the more it's driven.
  16. Very untrue. When I bought my 2010 in October, the salesman was telling me that they started getting 2011 models at the end of July.
  17. I've had a new 2010 Fusion Hybrid since mid-October. I live in Minnesota, so I was curious myself about winter handling on stock tires. I have FWD with the traction control, and I am very impressed with how this car handles in snowy conditions. I don't think you'll have any problems. I test drove the older 2.3L model, the newer 2.5L models and the 3.0L V6 model. I really didn't notice much of a difference between them. Sure, the 4-cyl will be a tad slower, but there's plenty of power (as previously stated) when you need it. Good luck!
  18. If you think you got a good deal, that's all that matters.
  19. All cars? I've never had a car with squeaky brakes until my 2010 FFH. It's going in to the dealer on Wednesday for a look see.
  20. I've had that problem on any number of cars over the years. You drive through some very deep snow and it gets in between the wheel cover and the wheel. Causes an imbalance of epic proportions, like that snowstorm.
  21. Thank you for all the sacrifices you make to keep us safe! And congrats on the new Fusion.
  22. Consumer Reports rates the Michelin X Ice #1 followed by the General Altimax Arctic #2.
  23. Agreed with all of the above. I noticed too that regenerative braking does not engage until the car seems to be warmed up a bit. I'm not worried. No matter, I'm getting better mileage than I used to get :-)
