  1. Both cars only had the driver in them and about a half tank of gas I have the 18' wheels and his were the i believe 16' wheels. My car has 549 miles on it his car I said was a 12 but its a 2011 and has 4500 miles on it. As far as gearing im not sure if ford even puts different gearing in them.
  2. Alright guys I just tested this out about an hour ago. My 2012 2.5l Fusion has the select shift trans with the thumb switch. My fiance's brother just bought a 2012 ff with the 2.5l without the select shift. Today he was over and I let him take my car for a drive. He came back 10 minutes later and says mine feels better than his acceleration wise. We went to one of our favorite spots for messing around and took both of our cars. Our first run was 1000 feet. We both had the AC and traction control off and i just put my car in D. We took off and I jumped out instantly about 1/2 car length and just sat there didnt pull anymore. Second race we switched cars to rule out driver error. Same results with him in my car he jumps out on me and sits there. 3rd race I used the Select shift and let me say it was a night and day difference. I jumped out and pulled pretty well and at the end my fiance said I was about 3-4 car lengths ahead. Again we switched drivers and had the same results. Final test was a 30 mph roll and once again I just pulled on him. When buying the car I didnt think much of having the select shift but after playing around im quite happy to have it! I know my fusion doesnt have the 3.0 or the 3.5 but honestly the 2.5 isnt all that bad.
  3. I did call steeda yesterday and was told that the CAI makes about 10 HP over the entire rpm range. In fact the guy I talked to dave said his sister has the 2.5l fusion with that intake and he said you can tell a difference. As far as engine life being shortened im not so sure about that.
  4. So has anyone tried this intake on their 2.5l Fusion? Im going to give them a call tomorrow but I think im going to buy the intake. Just wondering if anyone has tried one on their fusion weather its a 2.5, 3.0 or the 3.5 Thanks.
  5. Hey all I was wondering if anyone is using fully synthetic motor oil in their 2.5l Fusions? I have used synthetic oil in all of my cars and trucks but never owned an I4. I thought i read somewhere that synthetic motor oil in a I4 is a bad idea but I honestly cant remember. I also plan on buying a K&N air filter for the car as well. Any input would be nice thanks.
  6. Hello all! My dad and Grandpa have worked for Ford motor company for 35 years each. From the day I turned 16 I have always had a new Ford vehicle. 3 years ago when I was in the market for a new car I went to one of many local ford dealerships. After 5 hours of jumping through hoops I was so ticked of I literally walked next door and within an hour was driving away in a new 2008 Chevy Impala. I enjoyed the car but always had a that voice in the back of my head always reminding me that im driving a Chevy. I have NOTHING against Chevrolet I just felt bad because if it wasnt for Ford motor company I would not have had alot of the stuff I had growing up as a child. My lease was up on my Impala last week and I went to the Ford dealer that my dad bought his last truck from a year ago. The dealership is Friendly Ford in Monroe Mi. Our salesman made everything so easy and NO BS what so ever. Went in late on thursday and friday after I got out of work I went and picked up my 2012 Fusion SEL with the I4 2.5. Hats off to Ford for making an awesome car!! the fusion drives amazing and get great gas mileage. It has leather, moonroof, sony sound system appearance package and honestly the best of all the Selectshift with thumb switch. Took the car yesterday and got my windows tinted and between the Blue Flame color on the car and the black windows the car just looks hot!! Just wanted to share my new fusion with all of you so here is a picture.
