  1. I agree, that is next my list. Praying that the O2 sensor is the culprit.
  2. I'd like to thank everyone for giving their 2 cents on this. I decided to put in new plugs at 90,000 miles. and I also had them run a fuel system cleaner through it. no dice. I'm now at 94,500 miles. When I posted ths thread back 11 months ago, I was at 21.5 mpg. it has continued to creep lower by the month. I am now at 19.8 mpg! This is absolutely ridiculous. One of the reasons I bought this car was to get something newer, with up to date technology that got a little better mpg than the SVT Contour I had (21-23 mpg), along with other aspects. At 60,000 miles I did put new tires on it. Different than what came on it. Same size, different brand. All season performance I think. anyway, I'm surprised as hell that tires could mak that big of difference. I could understand if I put a wider tire on it or something, but thats not the case. This car seems to run fine, albeit, IMHO the engine is a bit of a dog. Anyway, I love the car for the most part but the mileage is a big deal. Especally since I've gone from 27 to 19.8. Its been getting on my nerves more and more as time goes by and I'm almost to the point of thinking of selling it. No way in the hell should this car be getting that bad of gas mileage. I'm a Ford guy, always have been, but I'm almost to th point of taking this car to the dealeship and saying good riddance.
  3. Anyone else out there experiencing declining mileage with their Fusion? I have a 2009 SEL V6 w/ the sport appearance pkg. When I bought it used with 28,000 miles on it, it was getting 26.5-27 mpg. It has been gradually going down, and the lowest it wen was 21.9, but right now at 22.2. Anyone know if there is some kind of known problem/recall that I may not know about? I currently have 81,500 miles on it. I've read in other threads that the plugs are good for 100K miles, but others even say up to 150K miles. Seriously? I guess I have a hard time believing plugs can go that long. I get the oil changed every 5,000 and have gotten the tranny oil changed every 35,000. The car overall has been wonderful. I'm just pissed off about my mileage going down the toilet. (and yes I understand there is typically a dip in milege in the winter time). It just seems like its excessively lower than what it should be. How bad could the O2 sensor affect mileage. Any comments appreciated. THanks,
