  1. We had order our new 2013 1.6 Ecoboost Fusion in mid-August and have been following it's slow progress since then. Just found out about the 12S41 Recall due to overheating concerns and today the dealer told us that the car had been re-routed to the Ford Flatrock Assembly Plant in Michigan and I assume this is where Ford plans to address the 'fix' for the engine. The dealer has been more than cooperative throughout the whole process and this is not a good situation for anyone concerned, especially Ford. If it is a matter of the engine soft plugs coming loose and spraying coolant on the turbocharger they need to find a softplug & sealant that hold, and may have to develop a shield to prevent the coolant from reaching the turbocharger. At first I thought that ethylene glycol would not burn but found it will at 748 degrees F. Don't know what mixing water to the ethylene glycol does to the ignition point or if the anti-freeze now used in Ford cars even contains ethylene glycol. Am sure the temperature of the turbocharger does run over 748 degrees at times as I have seen turbochargers on my farm equipment run red hot (never had any trouble with any of them either). Anyway we wait, not happy about it, but at least Ford is doing their best to address a bad situation and has owned up to the problem.
