  1. I would imagine that this fix will only apply to those that have these extra options installed like the Mobile Ease or the aux input, if you have the connector with just two wires already plugged directly into the radio then you should just need it programmed. If you do the self test on the radio (read above) and you get a DTC of U1900 com bus error then you are not connected to the cars computer so don't waste your time and money at the dealership they won't be able to program it bc its not connecting to the computer to begin with. Trace those two wires that come from the CAN bus and figure out where your short or cut or missing connection is. Also all of the dealerships can do the programming of the AS BUILT DATA. My local dealership told me the same thing at first that they couldn't program it. I told them repeatedly that they could, and sure enough one of their techs went online and found out that they actually can program these radios. So stand your ground with these Dealers, as sometimes we may know more than they do......
  2. look at my post i just put on this category 07 cd6 radio problems resolved I had the same problem no backlight on my buttons and I finally figured out a fix see if my videos help you
  3. So happy that I was able to fix my CD6 when the dealer couldn't!

  4. I have recently joined this forum as I just became an owner of an 07 fusion a couple of months ago. I had a CD6 audiophile that was in the car from factory, now the radio when i bought the car had the Mobile Ease Bluetooth and Ipod connector already installed. At first the display on the radio was dim as many of us have seen a problem with. That was the first thing I fixed, then I noticed the buttons on the radio did not light up when you turned on the headlight switch was activated. Next I noticed that the speed sensitive volume did absolutely nothing no matter what setting you had it on. First thing I did was let Ford plug it up to the IDS and reprogram the "As built Data" back into the radio. To no avail...... If you have ever run a test on your CD6 to see if you have any error codes please do so. Click FM button Press 3 and 6 at the same time press 2 if codes are found press the arrow up on the top right corner of the radio to review codes my code was a U1900 com bus error This is saying that the radio has no communication with the CAN Bus system in the car. This is why Ford could not program it, bc it had no way to communicate to receive any programming. I have made two videos of how I resolved my issue with this. However if you are experiencing any of these issues, I have heard that the 06 CD6 radios did not use CAN bus they were old school hard wiring (not a network that communicates to radio) Now wether or not this is true I do not know. The only thing I know is that my CD6 was manufacturered in Aug of 2006..... read into how you will. My CD6 does require the CAN Bus system.. I'll post some pics of my fix for the dim display and also post the links to my videos on fixing the back light.
