  1. I have a 2010 Fusion 2.0 SE. Got an oil change this past Saturday. On the following Tuesday the red oil light came on. The weird thing was the light would come on when braking or at idle. It was off if I was driving at highway speeds. Checked the oil and it was fine. Called the dealership that did the oil change and they said it was a faulty oil filter or a clogged oil filter. Had another oil change Thursday morning and was told nothing was wrong with the filter. After that I was going to drop it off at the dealership. On my way to the dealership the check engine light came on and the oil light stayed on. While I was on the highway the RPM gauge dropped to zero, the battery light came on and I could not accelerated. I was able to coast to the side of the road. I turned the car off and then back on but nothing happen. It was like I didn’t have enough battery to turn the radio on or roll the windows down. Had it towed to the dealership and they said the engine has no compression and they think the timing chain jumped. To prove their theory it would cost me $480 to have them take the valve covers off and retime the chain. If that fixes the problem they would then need to look at how bad the engine damage is which repairs for that range from new heads to a new engine. My car was great before the oil change. Was there anything that the first oil change place could have done to cause this problem? Do timing chains just jump or is there a reason that it happens? Thank you for all your responses.
