  1. Hello, (Disclaimer: I'm an idiot) I am having issues resolving a creaking noise that is coming from my front drivers side suspension. I have attempted to have this fixed three times by the same shop, and have already invested close to 1k on a vehicle that used for work, that isn't worth much more than that! First visit; the local shop replaced the upper control arms on both sides - this did nothing, and the creaking persisted. Second visit; the shop replaced the strut assembly - the noise was gone for about a week or two, and then progressively got worse. Third visit; shop said they replaced the sway bar bushings - the noise was gone for about a week, and now is back and progressively getting worse. I am driving a 2010 4 cylinder Fusion S. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!
  2. So it occurred to me that maybe now that I replaced the actuator, that it may be a good time to disconnect the battery again for 15 min and let the system reboot or whatever. This solved the issue. Car temp is now adjusting from cold to hot depending on setting.
  3. Replaced the actuator.... This did not solve anything. Still only getting a/c.
  4. So I removed the temp blend door actuator today. I noticed that it would only turn the gears in one direction and would not turn in reverse. I was able to turn the blend door by hand with the car off to change the temp from hot to cold... however, I was not able to turn while the blend door while the car was running. I ordered a new actuator. Does it sound like perhaps a faulty actuator was the problem?
  5. Yeah I tried that that. No luck. I figured i could just unplug the connecter when it was time to go back to a/c. When I unplugged it I did get a/c, but when I reconnected it I couldn't get the heat back. Took a lot of messing with the controls/and random unplugging/plugging aswell as disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to get the hear back, but now no a/c again...
  6. Long story shirt..... I pull off the piece of dash that is below the steering wheel. As I was looking for the blend door actuator, I noticed a plug that was unplugged.... voila! - Heat. Today was much hotter, and when I crancked on the A/C - it stayed hot! I guess that was why it was unplugged in the first place. Any idea what exactly needs to be repaired, and if it is something I can handle myself?
  7. Hehehehe... Needing a good line of sight for this weekend. Need to tackle this ASAP.
  8. Appreciate it! Additional opinions welcomed!
  9. So I need to look at replacing the actuator? I saw a post on an 06 replacement I think. Would mine be found under steering wheel or through glove box? Thanks!
  10. Hello forum, trying to find some guidance on resolving the issue I am having with my used fusion with roughly 77k miles. A/C blows cold and all four blower settings are working fine. When I turn the a/c on and off I can hear the blend door opening and closing, but when I turn the temp dial to heater I hear nothing at all. I've leaked the coolant to ensure no air bubbles and it the coolant is at proper levels. I also have heat going in and out of the heater core. I made the mistake of taking the car to Firestone and paid 130 dollars so they could tell me I need to take it to the dealer. They said the dash would have to be removed, but weren't able to give me an specific information. Hoping a can try to repair myself... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I thought I could make it through a South texas winter, but my feet are freezing! Please help. Thanks !
