  1. My dads 08 Fusion started having problems all of a sudden where the car was idling hard, had VERY low power (Especially when going up hills). We took it to our local Ford Dealership, and the next day they called and said that they where going to have to replace the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), the Coils (which had melted down) and the plugs! I have noticed that people on here have had the same problems, at about the same mileage! I have also noticed that NO ONE has had to pay ANYWHERE near what the dealership is saying it is going to cost us to get it fixed! Their ruff estimate is $3,000 to replace everything. So, is that a usual price? We were not given the option to get a refurbished PCM or anything! I have searched online and can get a BRAND NEW PCM for just at $300! Do you think that the dealership could be price gouging? Any info and suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks
