  1. i finally finished my rebuild and im glad i took the time to look everything over because the overdrive clutch pack was burnt. I replaced the forward and reverse piston, tossing in some new seals, Filter, clutch packs, overdrive steels, and a sonnax zip kit for good measure. my car is back on the road and working great. a friend tig welded the broken case pieces back in for me. i spent less on it than a reman transmission cost. it was worth the adventure. if it makes it another 100k miles it'll call it a huge success. it took me so long because work was busy and i had to do a ton of overtime. only had one day a week to work on it or get other things done. the ford parts giant website has most of the parts at a very reasonable cost. i ordered 5 overdrive steels for $0.96 each and for some unknown reason i received 23 of them.
  2. I found the problem with my No Forward issue. i got the trans down and out. the valve body looked pretty decent. solenoids resistances were spot on and matched the resistance chart perfectly. so no issue there. I proceeded to split the case and everything looked great except two chunks of the case were floating inside it. I got a picture of one of them. the tear down video i watched on the 6F35 had a similar failure. torn piston and broken case piece exactly like this. Apparently this isn't an issue once its removed and everything is reassembled. . I put everything back in so i wouldn't forget where it came from. Next day came out removed the center support, then air checked my forward piston and Low/Reverse with 35psi which is what my reg was set to at the moment. The Low/Reverse was working great, but Forward leaked air like a sieve. as you would expect when its broken. there were also small chunks missing out of the edge that i didn't get in the picture. keep in mind my car was telling me solenoid A was stuck off. Yeah this isn't Solenoid A but if the piston cant hold pressure it might think that the solenoid failed. This part is $23 and found on FordPartsGiant. I'm replacing both forward and low/reverse pistons to be safe. i'm also going to address other common failure points and toss in new clutch packs and seals while i have it apart. That should increase longevity and reduce the chance of something failing next year. hopefully with everything all said and done it will be a more reliable transmission than a salvage yard trans or reman. you never know what problems a salvage trans might have lurking around the corner, or what a company did when they manufactured one. common issues addressed? who knows. ?‍♂️ I'm fairly certain its going to move forward since i found the exact failure point. Mechanically and electrically nothing else appears to be in bad shape. I'll post an update once the car is resembled. good luck guys and have a great Fathers day.
  3. Thanks for posting all this my car has no forward and speculating solenoid A failure. i got p0751 and p2700 codes. i was getting P0219, P0731, and P0732 before finally getting the solenoid codes. i had the fluid changed. it had extremely few metal flakes in it which is good. but it seems solenoid A has possibly malfunctioned. i was just going to pull the trans out to make things easier. the engine support was only $180 compere that to dealer labor cost that's pretty cheap. I have a copy of the dealer service manual and its like the holy grail of service information. it great how much detail it goes into on the trans. it even explains how to check the solenoids resistance to see what could be the more likely problem. there's a chance the solenoid is fine and a seal is leaking or some other inexpensive component has failed in the forward clutch assembly. Once i dig into it I'll do my best to report back what problem i found. most people seem to be afraid to touch an automatic transmission let alone think about it. personally im more willing to get my hands dirty than pay someone 3-5k to do it. i want out of debt not further in it...
  4. i had a similar issue but it was due to the flex-plate bolts not being torqued down properly after an engine replacement. it would do it on cold startup then go away then come back when revving. i think i still have a video of it but its over 10Mb. the issue i had sounds exactly as you describe. i cant watch your video since im a bit late to the party and its gone.
  5. i've had this problem show in TWO 2.0L ecoboost engines. the problem both times was a cracked piston head. You cant fix that issue by doing a carbon cleaning after the fact. i've inspected the cylinders both times and found a lot of carbon deposits. the first time was the worst the piston was missing chunks which likely ended up in the oil pan. both times it was Cylinder #3. 2nd time i just used a bore scope and seen a fracture line. it would have been a big chunk. Engine 1 had ~93k miles. Engine 2 had ~98k miles. both times it was a year apart in the fall when it was getting cold out before snow fell. the pictures show where the compression went. the compression took my wallet out for dinner and didn't come back... twice... this year i did carbon cleaning treatment the before fall for several weeks. seems okay so far. i get misfires when passing people but i suspect that to be worn plugs. im changing them this week. its also not unusual for this car to misfire when passing people. its done it since i bought it.
