Wow! 20" wheels on a Fusion. Pretty big departure from stock! I think that would definitely degrade your ride quality and with a 30 series tire, be careful of potholes; not much room for tire flex. Guess it is all about what you want concerning either looks or performance. I would stay with the 35 series as it gives you a little more compliance when encountering road irregularities and thus might save you a bent wheel. The Fusion has a lot of suspension travel and compliance built in and changing wheel sizes may bring other unknowns into the mix. Just say'in.

If the fuel cut-off safety switch was activated during the accident, the car will not start until the reset button is pushed. That's the first place I'd check.

I may be mistaken, but I think that's the factory clamp and is not designed to take on and off on a regular basis. Go with an aviation style clamp to replace.

I have a 2010, 6 speed, 2.5. I have the Continental DWS's on it. They've been on for almost two years now and are an outstanding tire. They are very good in wet and dry conditions, quiet, and have done well in the Md. snowy winters. They are getting close to the wear bars now and I will definitely be going with them again. For the money, they are the best all season tire on the market. I also have them on the wife's BMW 535I and they perform equally well. Buy them and you'll never regret it!! P.S.: Just an up-date. Bought the newer version of the old DWS tire, Continental DWS-06, which replaces the older DWS's. Tread pattern is a little different, but it performs just as well as my original DWS's. These tires are perfect for our cars.

It amazes me when someone post's asking for help or guidance, it is provided, and they never respond as to whether it helped. I'm outta here.

roehsler: There was a TSB (technical service bulletin) or maybe a re-call notice for the 2010 Fusion from Ford in reference to a no-start issue. It related to the battery cable being the problem and it would be replaced. I had the same issue you described and had the cable replaced by Ford and no more problems. It's been so long ago, it may have been a re-call, but Ford definitely had paperwork on it. Check this out. I'll bet that's your issue. If you've had that done, then I'm at a loss. I believe it was the positive side cable and it was done for free. They replaced the original cable with an up-dated one and I never had another issue. Numerous cars were effected by this problem.

I too have a 2010 2.5 six speed manual. It has just over 50K on it and is going strong. One of the least troublesome cars I've ever owned. And yes, the six speed manuals are quite rare.

I'm also on the fence about a new Fusion. Currently have a 2.5 Ltr., 6 speed manual, 2010 and really like the car. It has been bullet proof. Can't even find a manual 2013+ 1.6 Ecoboost to drive as they're like hens teeth. I would probably consider buying the new Fusion with the 6 speed 1.6 engine, but am unsure if it would be that much more responsive then my current 2.5 engine. Not being able to test drive a 1.6 manual keeps me from ordering a new one. Opinions from those who now have a 6 speed ecoboost would be very much appreciated.

The OP is pissed because the car let him down. All my past Fords have been pretty bullet proof and my 45K, 2010 Fusion, 1-4 six speed, has been flawless. All cars have periodic issues; ask me about the wife's BMW 535I ! I empathize with his anger; however, the other posters are correct. If this is what causes you to move to another car manufacturer, you're in for a lot of future disappointments! Fords are pretty reliable and certainly as good as anything else on the market.

I think I'm going to wait to pull the trigger on the off chance that Ford will come out with a performance four banger with a manual in the 14 or 15 MY. I'd be really pissed if I got a 13 and then later on, they come out with what I wanted in the first place! Ford is real good at doing that! I remember I waited for the 84 Mustang GT to come out with the new roller 205 HP 302. I finally had to get the 175 HP 302 and damned if they didn't come out with everything I wanted in the 85 GT. Ordered one immediately and took a bath on the 84...Once bitten! Are there any juicy rumors out about a manual available in a performance version. Would love to hear them. -

I'm thinking it will probably be a wash between the power comparison of the two. The 13 will most likely give me marginally better gas mileage. I guess it boils down to whether I think moving up to the 13 will be that signifigant a difference and worth the price. I really enjoy the way my current ride handles and have had no negative issues with it since new. Hard to beat that combination. I'm just disappointed that Ford has not made the manual more prevelant throughout the Fusion engine line. They obviously have a tried and true 6 speed manual in the current 1.6 engine and my current 2.5. -
