  1. Thanks to everyone for their replies and advice. I talked with a Ford dealer tech today and he told me that indeed it looks like I drained the transmission. Not to fear however he said it probably lost about 5 qts and it can be refilled easily through another bolt in the transaxle. I have added some pics to show what I mean. If there is any Ford techs out there I would appreciate their confirmation before I go on with fixing my mistake. This is the plug I drained. This is the drain plug in relation to the oil filter on the top of the picture. And this is what I believe is the refill plug on top and to the right of the sensor. The OM shows it as a horizontal plug so I am not 100% sure. I took it out and it obviously leads to the same area and from what I have read the transaxle only gets filled to a certain level. If you have done this before or can provide confirmation I would really appreciate it. Thanks everyone.
  2. Hello, I was working on changing the oil on my 2006 Ford Fusion but like a true (insert remark here) went ahead without reading on how to do it. My fusion is 2.3L and has a manual transmission. I got under the car and was looking for the oil drain plug. I saw a large bolt and it looked like it so I took it off and lots of oil came out but I don't think it was the engine oil. The more I look around the more I am convinced I drained the transmission or something else. I am new at this and would really appreciate some help. What is that large bolt holding and how do I refill it if it is not the engine oil I drained? Thanks, Eze
