  1. They dropped the size of the fuel tank by 1/2 gallon. It will be 16.5 gallons. . . Eneg
  2. It's the "infolinks." A real pain! If you hold the back button down, you can bypass the two links that are causing this to happen. . . Eneg
  3. You have to look at it from all sides. An in dash unit is not the same as a Tom Tom. It's a lot more involved. When giving away away "free updates" to automobile owners, there will be a certain percentage of update failures, either due to defects or as we used to say "operator error!" Who is going to fix the problems? Ford? The dealer? It would be a headache for everyone involved! I would love free map updates, but God forbid the update fails. Eneg
  4. Here's the way that I look at it: We spend about 30k for the FFH. Just in the "looks department," for another 1k we get a much nicer looking dash. Also don't have suction cups attached to the windshield, along with wires running all over the dash. I have a Garmin which I have had for years. I think it's great. I also like that I can use it in multiple cars! It's just a matter of taste and whether another 1k is worth it. For most of us with the nav, it's worth it. For most of us without it, it's not. . . Eneg
  5. I have to ask where you got your figures from? The cost of the Nav is about $1100 retail and about $1000 invoice. Did you really get a Tom Tom for $50? Eneg
  6. You may not be so lucky next time at the car wash. Turn them to the off position! Eneg
  7. I have the 502A and it works exactly the same way! Eneg
  8. I'm not sure why you are "pissed." Every dealer will try to sell you the extra garbage that you don't need. You said "no" to everything except the warranty, so why let these guys take away your enjoyment of getting a new car? You are now finished with the sales department. The only thing that you have to worry about from now on is the Service Department. Anyway, good luck with your new car, it's great! Eneg
  9. Nothing here either. From what you are saying, there would have to be some kind of sensor that your foot would be tripping. Sounds unlikely, but you never know!
  10. I'll try to keep this from being a book! My trial ended mid May, but they never turned off my service. I wasn't going to complain. They started calling, emailing and sending real mail to me. I figured if the price was right, I would go for another year. They have two offers. If I remember correctly, they are called Sirius Select and Sirius Premium. They offered me a package for $77 for the year. I told them that I would only be interested in the package with all of the channels. They promised me that I would get all channels for $77 (plus tax and royalty fees.) I signed up, but I had read not to give them a credit card. Thankfully, I didn't! When I got the bill, it said that it was for "Select," which sent up a red flag. They also charged me a $2 fee for paying by check. Nobody told me that. Sure enough, we were listening to a channel that was listed on "Premium" and the channel went off. So did a bunch of others. I have enough trouble in my life, and didn't want to deal with this, so I called them up screaming and just told them to cancel my service. After trying to get me to pay the extra $30 for Premium, I kept just telling them that I wanted to cancel. They changed the package to the Premium, no extra charge. (BTW - I still hadn't paid them.) The next piece of mail that I got from them stated that I owed them $128, plus another $2 charge for something else that I can't think of right now. Back on the phone and they finally straightened it out. They also removed the $2 charge. Once the stations were put back, I sent in a check. Moral of the story? Don't give them an advantage of having your credit card#. . . Good luck!! Eneg
  11. The latest info that I could find at the epa is that highway tests were changed in 2008. Top speed is 60mph and avg speed is 48mph. I found that they are coming out with new labels shortly, but couldn't find any data to say if the tests were changing. That doesn't mean that they are not on the site, just means that I didn't see 'em! You're right in that anyone can beat the epa figures. But, for around 300 miles on the highway, at 60-65mph, for almost 300 miles, to get about 35% higher mileage would have to be proven to me. Ain't gonna happen. . . Eneg
  12. Say what? Aren't you the guy who can't admit when you are wrong? You don't even know the difference between delivery charges and dealer prep charges and you come on here blasting me? Are you gonna sing your Bob Dylan songs now? BTW - I've gotten a lot of good info from Akirby. Maybe you should read what has been said before you start singing. . . Eneg
  13. Aaron, If you are really concerned about using less carbon and less oil, why not take the train or bus from NY to DC? You would accomplish the above, plus you could save a couple of bucks. Anyway, you're telling me that you drove 60-65 mph down I95 and got almost 13 mpg better than the highway epa on the car (which I believe is figured at 55 mph.) And, you did it with the windows "down," which I'm sure that you know takes away from your mileage. Truly amazing! BTW - You're not close to the Prius mpg at all. Since you can get about 13 mpg above the epa figures on the Ford, you should be able to get at least that much better on the Prius too. That would put the Prius at about what? 65mpg?? Eneg
  14. I guess that it's just me, but I have to ask anyway: You purchased a $30,000+ automobile. Is the only reason that you bought the FFH is to save some money on gasoline? Don't you want to be comfortable? You can drive 10 miles an hour on the highway, without the a/c on with any car and you will save some money! I took a 500 mile trip a few weeks back. I had the a/c on befrore the car was out of the garage, I did 75 mph on the highway and I had a nice trip. I got about 36 mpg and when I got to my desination, I wasn't sweating! I don't get it! If saving a few bucks and being uncomfortable is what is most important, then why not buy a Prius and get another 10 mpg? Eneg
  15. How do you know it was a Mosquito? Maybe it was Godzilla!!!! Eneg
