Hi everyone, i'm a new owner of a 2008 Ford Fusion V6 SEL, and i'm very happy with my purchase. There was still a few thing that i wanted to improved and the most important one was the noise of my blower motor when i was turning the fan at low and medium speed.I wanted to share this solution with u guys since i found loads of good information here ,
it sounded like there was debris stuck in the fan wheel or like a baseball card in a bicycle wheel and the frequency was higher the higher the fan speed was. So i went through a few web pages and this forum in particular and found out i wasn't the only one. To make it short, there was 2 solution, either you replace it or you fill it with lubricant. I did the last one i it worked great! Even though I'm not really into mechanics it happened to be be quite easy!
Just 3 screws to remove the motor which is underneath the glove box, unplug the fan, remove the black cap with 3 other screws, remove the metal cap with 2 other screws and spray the interior with a good dose of lubricant (i used Jig-a-Loo) . So the other step backward and it was done within 30 min!
Here it is, next step, my USB connection problem.
