I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid with 99,600 miles. While driving on the freeway, the vehicle suddenly displayed the "Service Advanctrac" warning followed by the "Check Brake System" warning. Also, the electronic braking system failed. For the first time, I experienced the dreaded hydraulic braking. Luckily for me, I remembered that the brakes actually do still work even though the sensation while driving is that they don't. I managed to pull over, compose myself, and then drove to a nearby Ford dealership.
So far the dealer has no idea what is wrong.
I do know there is a TSB for a similar issue (hydraulic brakes), but my car did get the necessary software update per this TSB shortly after it was made available.
Any ideas or suggestions?
I'll be sure to follow-up with any resolution should this ever happen to anyone else.
Thanks!
