Hi guys, Can you check if your driver's side mirror adjustment button is supposed to be illuminated? Also can you check if the window lock button is supposed to be illuminated? I had some electrical issue and now I only have the four windows buttons and door lock button illuminated.

2012 fusion - Ambient lighting not working

When mine stopped working, I've investigated a little bit, and it turned out that there was a disconnected wire under the center console. It is very easy to remove the plastic center console cover and underneath the coup-holders was where I saw the disconnected cabling. Snapped it back together and ambient light worked again. Here's a quick video how to remove that center console. -

I wish they stopped making cars that look and have a shape of an egg. The reason why german cars are so popular design-wise is that they are built wide in the base and smaller in the top body, like a pyramid shape. That adds stability and great future proof look to the car. I can live without a cupholder if I can have a nicely shaped car. This redesigned version is just a small modification to the bottom grill. I just flipped that bottom grill upside down and it already looks better.© Megaspeed

I apologize to bring up this topic and I know I did ask this question before. However, it hasn't been appropriately answered. I don't know how to properly match the color of those alloy wheels and so I attempted to ask again to see if there is anyone with new information. I also know there must be a way to match the color without just guessing and buying all different shades of silver. Interested how others deal with their scratched alloy wheels. Thank you.

So I roughed up my front wheel by grinding it against the curb. It's not too bad, but it's something that I would like to be fixed. I also have small paint chips, probably due to the road pebbles. Please, please does anyone know a color code for those silver alloy wheels that come with Ford Fusion Sport 2012? I looked up the internet and couldn't find anything that would mention the code. I just would like to sand the scratch a little and fill it in with paint that matches the current paint. I do have a clear coat paint that I purchased as a part of the body color to touch up little nicks on the body. I definitely don't want to use any service and would like to do it myself. Just need the appropriate paint. Please help!

Don't you love when you expect a car that is fixed, drive away listen for the noises just to find out that the issue is still there,they didn't fix anything but charged you everything? To mechanics: How about testing the car and making sure the problem is gone before releasing it to the customer? Oh I forgot, they don't care...

Current milage is about 37K. I don't even dare going to the dealer for something like this. When I asked them to do a tire balancing, they scratched my wheels and acted like nothing happened. It didn't even occur to them that they need to pay attention and be more carful when they do any type of work. This was done at Hasset Ford in Wantagh, NY.

2012 Fusion Sport here in blue. Everything is working well so far, but the interior is starting to rattle more and more. The annoying thing is that you can never figure out where the rattle is coming from. I actually had the rattle issue from the very start and it left a bad taste in me. Engine and transmission are very smooth, but the built quality of the interior is poor. Will be looking for a better made car on my next purchase. Btw, the other Fusion I own is 2007 and it's much more solid!

Hello, Does anyone know the color code for 18" wheels for the Ford Fusion Sport 2012? I have the silver type (not the blackened ones), and I am trying to figure out the exact match for a touch up on them. One wheel was damaged by an incompetent mechanic, working for a tire shop, trying to change the tire.

Hi Droids1, I've noticed that you are on Long Island. So perhaps I can advise you to never ever come to STS shop in Farmingdale on Route 110 just north of SSP. Having said that, I've never actually had a good experience with anyone messing with the tires. They always scratched my alloy wheels on the other car that I owe as well and that includes Ford dealer in Hassett. If you knew of someone reliable where you go to, please let me know, I'm willing to travel for a good reliable service.

Took it back and had them swap it. In the process they chipped the paint of the wheels quite signifficantly. Now I have another problem on how to fix that. Would you know of any good alloy wheel clear coat touch up?

So I just got my tire replaced and after arrival at home I've noticed that the tire says "side facing inwards". I can't believe that a place that mount tires for living will make such an error. Meanwhile, should I be concerned about safety with tire mounted incorrectly like this?

So I noticed an air leak in my tire which is about 10 PSI a week. First visual inspection showed no obvious problems so I refilled the tire back to 38PSI (3 PSI over the recommended pressure). But a week later my dashboard yelled at me again that I have a low pressure. So I took it to the tire shop where they found a screw and that they have to replace the whole tire since it's in the sidewall. It's going to cos me $218 with rotation and ballancing - ouch. The screw is really in the sholder and so I wonder if replacement is really necessary. Please check out the picture and let me know what you guys think as $200 is a lot of money for me, but I also don't want to negotiate my safety. I'm talking about Ford Fusion Sport 2012 with GoodYear Eagle tires.

Hi There, I'm the owner of Fusion 2007 SE and Fusion 2012 Sport. I've also noticed the rattle sound you are talking about on both of my vehicles. Here are the post and pictures that address the issue. Mine was coming from the A-pillar on the passenger side and simply sticking a piece of paper in the corner between the windshield and the pillar itself eliminated the rattle. Surprisingly this is true for FF2007 and FF-Sport 2012 and I wouldn't be surprised, if it solves the problem for the redesigned Fusion as well. Anyway, good luck, I know how rattling sound in a brand new vehicle feels, especially if you are a perfectionist.

Hello everybody, Can I install a dashboard camera inside my vehicle in New York state and record daily driving activity without braking any law? Would you know if I can record both video as well as audio? Thanks!

I'll keep an eye on it. It is a strong possibility the car is "settling" and "burning in". The truth is also that the odor is only present when I drive the vehicle hard which is rather rare. As for the noise, the car doesn't produce any abnormal noise, besides the fantastic hum of revving engine when pushed hard. I'll keep you guys posted and thanks for the replies.

I've noticed that under a heavy acceleration there is a smell of exhaust going into the car. This only happens when the vehicle is accelerated hard. Could there be a loose seal? Why it only happens when the car is pushed hard? Really enjoy the ride in my Sport 2012.

I don't think Select Shift is necessarily better on gas, but it depends how you use it. Keep it in higher gears and you are probably saving a little bit of gas as the RPM of the engine is low. To answer the second part of your question, think about it this way, when you are in auto mode the onboard transmission computer will select gears accordingly to your current speed. With Select Shift you can override it and get lot more power. If you really want to test it out, put it into SelectShift while stopped and use the first gear to swiftly accelerate up to 35 mph, then second gear to red line, third to red line, fourth to red line, fifth to redline and by the time you hit red line in the sixth speed you are doing 120mph and boy that's the time you really realize how much of a powerhouse this car is.

I am not surprised that everyone reports a different outcome with their Sync system. It's been designed by Microsoft; forget about any consistency. Every time the fuse gets pulled the system behaves differently, let alone systems in different vehicles. Installing Microsoft system into a vehicle was a big mistake on Ford's part. Sure, Ford gets paid tons of Money by Microsoft, let the end users suffer and it's sad that Ford traded customer satisfaction for cash. An update to the system? Forget updating, one patch creates more problems than it fixes, it's just a nature of Microsoft... It brings down the value of the vehicle.
