  1. Hi helixal. No, losing coolant is usually not "normal" in any engine. You don't mention seeing any leaks under the vehicle, coolant traces in the exhaust, unusual white smoke from the exhaust? Also, the coolant overflow tank only needs to be filled up to the appropriate line (either "Hot" or "Cold"), according to whether the engine is hot or cold at the time. It does not need to be "Full". How far below the appropriate fill line was your tank now? Whether it would be covered under the Powertrain Warranty really depends on what the issue is. Blind Internet diagnosis? In many/most cases like this...probably. For example, if it's a failure due to an internal engine issue, yes. If it is a leaking hose, due to undetermined causes, it may not be. Those are simply two general examples, but the Owner Warranty Guide you were given when you purchased (assuming you purchased new) will go into more detail. At this point, your best course of action would be to schedule a service appointment at your soonest convenience to have the issue properly diagnosed and corrected. Keep us updated and good luck.
  2. Hi Tarnafes and welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. Unfortunately, your European Union Fusion is a completely different vehicle than the U.S. Fusion this forum is dedicated to. Your Fusion is a 4 door, compact hatch. Our Fusion is a 4 door, mid-size sedan which has virtually nothing in common with your Fusion, other than the name. Our Fusion is essentially the same vehicle as the 4 door sedan version of the Mondeo in the E.U., That being said, I am sure another member here will jump in to help if they are familiar with the workings of your Fusion audio system.   3. Hi Helixal. If you were able to get 3 free NAV updates on a single Ford Fusion, you were a very lucky owner. The most I have ever been aware of Ford vehicles getting is one free update, and as previously stated, even Lincoln vehicles were only entitled to two. In addition, they had to be used within the New Vehicle Warranty time period. So 3 years/36,000 miles for Fords, and 4 years/50,000 miles for Lincolns. And even that changes with the new SYNC 4 and recently released Google based SYNC systems. So count yourself lucky on the NAV update subject. Good luck. 🍻

  5. Hi Helixal. Yes, that has been the one year/single update cost for more than a few years now (at least 4). It has been $109 for the download only. And $149 if you want them to mail a loaded USB. Or we can opt for the 5 year subscription, which is $199 for the five year download subscription, or $239 to receive a loaded USB, and add $40 for the loaded USB each subsequent 4 years. Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 NAV used to get 2 free downloads. Then we had to pay. I am not sure if Ford vehicles were entitled to any free downloads. Good luck.
  6. Hi kalpeshp. They are a good snow/winter-only tire. Are you looking for snow/winter only tires? If yes, and they are not approaching being too old (>~5 years old), they could be a good deal. Also, while they obviously can be driven year-round, the ride and handling in warmer weather will be of a lower quality than your factory all-season tires. My opinion: Due to the smaller size and lower speed rating (T rated is up to 118 mph) and winter only construction, I would not use them if it was for my car. However, if they fit your needs and preferences, then it may be a good fit for you. Keep us updated and good luck.

  8. Hi kalpeshpand welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. Yes...you can. However, out of curiosity, why do you want to go to a narrower tread width? Cost? A few things to keep in mind: - The smaller overall diameter will throw off the speedometer/odometer by approximately ~1.1% (which is actually rather negligible). - Apples to apples with the same tire brand/model, it will also ride slightly harsher (~4.8% less sidewall). - The smaller overall diameter means the tire will also look smaller in the wheelwell (if you care about looks). - Be sure to purchase a tire which meets the load rating and other tire specifications required for your Fusion by Ford.   10. Hi Roxas. Sorry if my reply was confusing. Lighting, back lighting, glare etc. etc., all make photos and videos worth little. In my opinion, a photo or even a video will not do much to show us anything definitive, unless it is spewing ridiculous amounts of white smoke, in which case a service appointment would still be the answer. And if you think about it, no matter what I or anyone else may tell you based on a photo or video, your best course of action is still to schedule a service appointment immediately/as soon as possible. Let me explain it this way, with the two main possibilities being: 1- You post a video or photo, and I or someone else tell you, "Don't worry about it, that is normal". Are you really going to take our word for it, take your chances we are correct and not schedule a service appointment? 2- You post a video or photo and I or someone else tell you "That is not normal, you better schedule a service appointment as soon as possible". As you can see, either option winds up with you scheduling a service appointment as soon as possible. I am sure others will jump in with more advice, so keep us updated and good luck.
  11. Hi Roxas. Unfortunately, we can not see what you are seeing. Your 2020 Fusion should still be within the 5 year/60,000 mile Powertrain Warranty (it is certainly within the mileage limit)? Therefore, I would strongly advise you call and schedule a service appointment as soon as possible. Again, although we can not see what you are seeing, it is certainly possible you have reason to worry. In the meantime, are you losing coolant in the reservoir? Keep us updated and good luck.

  13. Hi Millbridge. I would definitely get a "second opinion" on a major cost decision such as that. As to if/how it can be repaired without an engine replacement? It is virtually impossible to say without more information. A "catastrophic engine failure" can have various underlying causes and results. For example, Is it a cracked block? Damage due to a failed piston? Failure due to damage from broken valves...etc. etc. etc. By definition, "catastrophic engine failure" usually means engine replacement, since the damage was "catastrophic". So it the Dealer is correct, then yes, it means engine replacement. However, we don't really know what the damage is, so all we can do is blind Internet guess. Again, I would definitely recommend a second opinion from another Ford Dealer or an independent shop you trust. I am sure other members will jump in with more advice and recommendations, so let us know how you make out and good luck.
  14. Hi Netjel. An easy way to find out (possibly) would be to Google the part number supplied on the Work Invoice. Hopefully they provided one to you. My guess? It is the selector from a Fusion trim level that has a "L" (Low) setting instead of "S" (Sport). They should not have installed a selector from a Truck/SUV, unless it is the same part number for your particular Fusion model selector. Parts are cross referenced and supplied to the Service Department by the Parts Department according to VIN. Let us know how you make out and good luck.

However, I would recommend stopping by the Service Department and asking why the seemingly incorrect part was installed. And also ask for the correct one to be installed now.   16. Hi Gavin. Seafoam is among the intake tract cleaners/solvents that drolds1 mentioned are not approved for used by Ford, contrary to whatever the Seafoam rep/reps may have told you. This information is explained in the Owner Warranty Guide for our vehicles. The only method of cleaning that Ford approves for the EcoBoost TDI (Turbo Direct Injection) engines is removing the intake manifold and manually cleaning the valves/seats etc. via walnut blasting or other similar methods. No intake tract cleaners/solvents are approved, since they can all result in possible damage to the turbos, turbo seals etc. Also, without proper diagnosis, I would not be so quick to assume what the issue may or may not be. It may be better to get the help of a shop or tech you trust to help correctly diagnose this problem before you perform any self-help that may make things worse or simply waste money.   17. Hi Gavin. In the majority of cases, DTC codes do not pinpoint an exact cause. They merely point the tech in the right direction and then there is a troubleshooting tree to follow in order to find and correct the actual cause. So there can be and usually are a multitude of causes for any particular DTC code. For example...In your case, an engine misfire could be caused by a bad spark plug, faulty injector, bad coil, bad wire, a failing PCM, etc. etc. If you know the code, then Google it and you will be able to find the troubleshooting tree. Or post it here and someone can do the same. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  18. Hi jsharpsteen and welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. What WKelley stated above. It is not a feasible project. You would simply wind up with a ~4,000 pound paperweight in your garage or driveway. To save typing, the answers to all your questions, whether about the MKZ 3.0T engine, fuel mileage concerns, a 5.0L engine, etc. etc. are unfortunately all on the bad side of what you wish to hear. If you want a faster Fusion, purchase a 2017+ Fusion Sport with the 2.7l EcoBoost engine. Good luck.
  19. Hi Mason and welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. If you are looking for new, I would check with the Parts Departments of your local Ford Dealerships and ask them for the part number and a price. Once you have that, you can negotiate price with them, and/or take the part number and shop online.   20. Hi Roxas. I am not arguing whether it should/should not be covered under the Powertrain Warranty. Heck, I am a Lincoln owner and certainly wish things like that were covered under the Powertrain Warranty. However, it is not. I am only trying to help you by letting you know it is not covered under the Powertrain Warranty, but would be covered under the 3 year/36,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty (with the restrictions previously mentioned).   21. Hi Roxas. Can't help with them duplicating the problem, if you can't demonstrate it personally. However, if your Fusion is still within the 3 year/36,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty, this type of issue would be covered. Unless of course, they claim liquid was spilled on/into it, or some other type of inadvertent negligence. Unfortunately, the dial shifter would not be covered under the Powertrain Warranty or an extended Powertrain Warranty. Keep us updated and good luck.
  22. Hi Maraudest. Sorry if we have not been clear. No...it is not feasible to install the "pads and module from sel and wire it up". Your best hope would be to find a way to purchase and install the Ford Accessories keyless keypad which drolds1 mentioned and linked to in his first reply. Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I have no idea whether it will "FIT THESE VEHICLE" (sic) or not, whether we can trust them, etc. My reply was only meant to verify that the Ford Accessory key-less keypad consists of essentially a stick on fob programmed just like our factory keyfobs, and how it operates. And also to let Maraudest know that it would be their only viable choice, since trying to install the factory key-less keypad system which is integrated into the door (or B-pillar) would not be an easy project. I also was not opining on whether Ford Accessories are available in the Middle East, whether there is a Ford Dealer available to the OP in the Middle East etc. That will be up to them to determine. ? Hope that makes the reason for my reply clearer. Good luck my friend. ?
  24. Hi Mauradest. As drolds1 stated, there is (or at least was) a "stick-on" key-less entry keypad available through Ford accessories. It essentially is programmed into the existing vehicle systems and operates like a regular keyfob...except it is attached to the vehicle with double sided tape. Some owners have even placed it in hidden locations, such as inside the fuel door etc. Concerning trying to add the factory key-less entry keypad, all the necessary modules/programming etc.? While almost anything can be accomplished if we throw enough money, work, sweat and cursing at it, adding the factory key-less keypad system would be a difficult task to accomplish.
