  1. Hey Everyone,

I am new to the forum and looking for some help.  I have a silver 2016 Fusion SE with 18" black factory wheels.  I need to replace tires and I am looking at doing new wheels at the same time.  My question is this.......will a 18X9.5 wheel with 255/40/18 tires (+35 offset, original is +55) fit without rubbing on original stock suspension?

Hi Pitcher and welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. No, they will not fit properly.

  2. Hi,

I saw that you commented a lot and was hoping to get your opinion. I have a 2014 Ford fusion Energie-77k.  So the engine light came on (I forgot an oil change its at 7%) so thought nothing since I had an apt that week. Well now my whole engine shakes violently to where it feels as the whole car is shaking. I took it to autozone (its only a mile away and the nearest ford quicklanes is roughly 20 min out didnt want to risk being stranded) and used the code reader but nothing pops. We already suspected maybe a mount but then the guy at autozone said the same. I talked to the dealer and we added a quart of oil to ensure it wasn't running on fumes which when we first checked it appeared to be.

so its not running on fumes and no code is popping out so any ideas?

we suspect a mount breaking (no obvious part lingering, a misfire, coils (which we checked and voltage was all the same), and we ensured all air ways were clear.

anything we might be missing before i spend $150 on a diagnoses that might pop no codes

    thank you

Hi dburke24.  First, are you outside the 3 year/36,000 mile Bumper to Bumper, 5 year/60,0000 mile Powertrain and extended Hybrid/Energi warranties? If it is something engine/transmission related, it could still be covered under the Powertrain or Hybrid/Energi warranties, even if you are outside the Bumper to Bumper Warranty. Plus, the Hybrids/Energi have some extended warranty coverage, so taking it to the Dealer for diagnostics may be worth it, in case it is covered under warranty.

About the oil...are you saying when you checked it was low and adding a quart brought it back up to the fill area? And just an FYI to avoid confusing people: "Running on fumes" means almost no gas. Low oil is just low oil.

Unfortunately, with all of that being said, unless you know a mechanic or someone who else who can check for a broken engine mount, there is really no way to avoid having a proper diagnostics performed. Also, it sounds like the sort of issue you will definitely need to have repaired, so the diagnostic fee would go towards the repair anyway.  You usually only get charged separately for the diagnostic fee if you don't have the vehicle repaired there.

I would recommend you also post about your problem on the public forums.  It is possible someone else has had the same issue and can offer more advice.

Let me know how you make out and good luck,
