In my "younger" days (when I was a kid), I remember the engines I had for my models were OhTwoSevens. (Don't remember of that was 0.27 or 0.027). What would that be in cc's?

No advice, but I'll tell you what happened to me with my SHO. I use the moonroof often, both using the "tilt" and the "slide back". One day, after using the "slide back", after closing the roof back to its normal position, I could not slide the manual inside roof shade back into place. It would stop about midway. After trying many things, like opening and closing the moonroof, and the shade still not closing past the half way mark, I pushed the shade forward with a lot of force, and bingo, the slide went into place. Then noticed something strange. When I open and close the manual shade, as long as I don't open the moonroof to the "slide back" position, the shade operates normal, even if I open the moonroof to the tilt position. However, when I open the moonroof to the "slide back" position, then close it, the manual shade is very hard to close, only the first time I close it. (after that, it closes easy). Don't know what is wrong, but no way am I going to have a tech take apart the inside roofing material, to check and fix it as the cost is more than the value, and it only takes me a little more effort to close that inside manual shade that first time.

Funny how your wifes side of the family swears by Hondas. The worse MODERN DAY CAR I ever owned was a Honda Accord EX, the best one they made, in Marysville Ohio. Car must have been made on a Monday or Friday, because I had everything go wrong except for the engine. (Never had problems with the engine). Transmission was crap. Moonroof leaked water on me. A/C was not worth a darn. CV Boots leaked. (other problems also - too many to list). Worse thing was when I would go to the dealer to get something fixed, the dealer would say, "sorry but we have not been able to replicate the problem", or "never heard of that problem before". Then one day, I was talking with an area Service Rep, who told me, "oh, we have a fix for that now". Got that last thing fixed, and when something else went wrong, TRADED IT for a Camry. That Camry never saw the inside of a dealership in 97k miles. Refused to buy a Honda since.

I also have my X-Plan information all printed out, but when I picked out the hard to find Fusion Titanium I wanted, the dealer down in Tampa tried to pull a fast one on me by insulting me, only offering me "penuts" for my SHO on trade. He lied to me about many things. Told him I will not purchase from him, even if he offered me more for my trade. Because of health issues, I still have not purchased a Fusion Titanium, but I can wait, plus my X-Plan sheet does not expire for a year. Even if it expires, I can still get another one.

Did they get all those 1.6T's fixed yet?

My 2011 MKZ with the 3.5 V6 uses the AWF21 transmission. Same transmission code as the 2007 MKZ with the AWS21 transmission that I used to own. Only difference is that the 2007 did not shift nearly as good as my 2011. Forget what the Ford transmission fluid is called, but something like Ford Special Transmission Fluid, (not the exact wording, but something like that) which is the exact same fluid as the Toyota T-IV Fluid. My 2011 MKZ shift and acts great. (FWIW, my SHO uses the 6F55 which uses the Ford Mercon LV Fluid).

I'm not being a wise guy, so don't take this wrong. If you really want a "Stick", you should go for the Dodge Dart with the 1.4 Turbo. Dealers are loaded with them, that they can't sell, only because most Americans and Canadians want automatics. In reading their forums, those with the stick love them, but dealers are stuck with so many. Production for over three months of the 1.4 Turbo was only with manuals. Only in the last few weeks have they added the Duel Clutch "Automatic" which is really a manual that shifts by itself. Like I said, don't take this post wrong. I just depends how much you want a manual transmission.

Not good for Ford Customer Relations

The chart shows the 4-cyl engine. Don't know if your are correct or not, in that the 4-cyl uses the 6F35, however I know that the 2006 to the 2012 V6 use the AWF21 Transmission.

I hope you get betther than that also as that is the engine I want. Keep us informed as you get more miles on the car. As it is, my SHO Ecoboost gets 27 when I'm in a hurry on the open Interstates, but if I take my time, under 70mph, i'll get 28-31, averaging 29. (around town though, the milage sucks, between 16-19) My MKZ on the open interstates, gets 29mpg. Have not taken my time with it, so I don't know what it gets under 70mph. (Around town down around 18-21) If the 2.0 Ecoboost does not get better than what I'm already getting, I'll have second thoughts on buying.

SorryTinted 18% not legal in Florida. I think the legal limit is something like 35%. (whatever it is, it is somewhere in the 30's). Around here in Central Florida, although you do see those very dark tints, the local LEO's look for any reason to stop cars, and many towns, such as mine, have the equipment to check the tint and hand out tickets. Both my cars have stickers on the doorpost, stating the percent of tint, and that they meet Florida specs. Matter of fact, the tinting places I go to will not install a tint that does not meet Florida law. (some place do, just for the business and money). You being Navy in Jacksonville will not keep you from getting a ticket. Many LEO's were also in the service, and they don't care, plus you (and me) have no priority with them. Trust me! Take it from the Old Chief.

Judging the comfort of the seats when you sit in a car for just a short while, really does not tell you much. You have to own, or rent or lease a car for a while to judge just how comfortable the seats are. In my case, the most comfortable seats I've ever had in a car, was in my 1994 T-bird. No car, before or after has been as comfortable at that car. (How many people remember the T-Birds of that era, which were RWD but with IRS?) Never had an iota of problems (wait, see below) with that car, but I just needed a 4door, so I had to trade the 2door T-Bird. Now thinking about it, I did have one problem. One day, my wife drove the car and said that it feels like I am driving over rumble strips. Funny that I never felt anything. Went for a drive with her, and she pointed it out. Happened just before shifting into top gear. Took it to my dealer, and found out that it was the torque converter giving the rumble problem. The car was just 200 miles short of the warrenty running out. (had 35800 miles on it at the time). This tells me to "always listen to my wife" <grin>.

Darn British made 1.6T engines <grin> So far, no problems with the 2.0T Spanish made engines. <ha>

As for the trunk lid alignment, I saw a new base model Fusion parked downtown (Mt. Dora) this morning. Took a special long look at the trunk alignment. SAW NOTHING. This Fusion's trunk lid FIT PERFECT. Also looked over the whole car, and saw no quality problems.

Early 2013????? They can't even get the gas Fusions and the Hybrid Fusions to dealers in any number right now. How they going to get the Fusion Energi to dealers (for sale) in early 2013?

Just saw that Consumer Reports is testing both the Ford C-Max Hybrid and the Fusion Hybrid. Neither one is getting nearly the MPG that Ford says they get. They have been testing the C-Max Hybrid for a while, but the Fusion Hybrid only for a couple weeks. MPG's only in the mid to high 30's. Strange how the Prius says it gets 48 (or is it 49), and thats what it gets. My buddy in Roswell worries when his third generate Prius drops down below 51 MPG. When he had his second generation Prius, I once asked him if he ever reset his average MPG. Said he did not even know that it could be reset. (I found the menu to reset it). At the time, he owned the car for over a year, had over 20k miles on it, at the readout read 49.5 mpg average. Yep, 49.5 mpg average for over a year and over 20k miles. If I should break down and buy a Fusion or MKZ Hybrid, I don't want him to laugh at me <grin>. Hope the government does not get after Ford/Lincoln the same way they got after Hyundai/Kia.

Only people on this forum will notice. Most people will have no idea. If it means that much to you, go ahead and do it, assuming the wireing and connection accepts the Titanium tail light. (It's like guys that ride a Harley - they know each and every different model, but to the non Harley person, they are all Harleys with no difference. - matter of fact, to the non biker, its just a motorcycle, does not matter what the brand is).

How comfortable is the ride with those wheels and tires? With those 20" (?) wheels, your car has to ride like a brick. Tires with very short sidewalls cause cars to ride hard.

Just looked up this acoustic laminated glass. Learn something new every day. What happens if you need to replace your windshield for any reason? Will your insurance company tell you that you must use a less expensive glass, like the regular laminated glass? I have no idea what the windshields on my two FoMoCo cars are. I guess I'll have to look for the signs to see which glass they use.

As I said in a previous post in this thread, I don't order cars anymore. This is one example of not getting what you thought you were going to get. (Been there, done that).

Are you saying that the Titanium does not have a laminated windshield???? I doubt that, as all windshields must have a sheet of plastic between two sheets of glass, for safety reasons. That is what laminated windshield means. There may be differences due to rain sensing or top tinting, but not lamination. Where did you get your information about the different windshields on the S/SE and Titanium? (If you read it on the internet, it must be true)?
