  1. The part should be billed on the repair order and coded as an internal (meaning no charge to the customer and is on record that it was replaced) Depending on the ethics of the dealership they may or may not tell the customer. If the parts department has one in stock they will have the tech install it, if not they would have to order the part, or buy one out from another dealer, call Napa etc. As for duration of install I'm not sure, as I am a Ford parts manager, not on the service side/not a technician.
  2. I wonder if it was referring to the vacuum line on to the brake booster?
  3. Most newer Fords are NOT PRE WIRED! I have had countless problems with customers trying to add on something that did not come from the factory. The best thing is to find a upholstery shop or an aftermarket add on shop in your area and have them do the job. The DEALERSHIP that I CURRENTLY work at sublets all of these add ons to an aftermarket shop. Ford does not make it easy on modern vehicles to have a plug and play install if it is not offered as a accessory kit from Ford. GEM modules, fuse panels, wiring, PCM programs, etc. are often required to make changes on newer Fords. This is why my dealership sublets them to aftermarket installers and even then vehicles have been butchered. Even though stealership is kinda funny, I do take offense to this. I'm simply trying to give people accurate information, I have a lot of info/resources at my finger tips, I hope I do not come across as arrogant. Award winning (from Ford Motor Comapny) Master Certified Ford Parts Manager.
  4. The Techron, bg products 44k and Ford's motorcraft pm6 are all good products. Next time I see our Ford rep for my dealership I will ask about any performance parts coming to the Ford racing catalog for Fusions. If they have stuff for the Focus why not the Fusion? BG is an aftermarket product that shops use for flushes for automobiles. BG has no connection with any OE manufacturer, it is a seperate entity 100%. You will have to search the BG website for shops in your area to see who sells it. The dealership that I am currently working for uses the Wynn's line of flushes, but personally I think the BG is a superior product comapred to the wynn's.
  5. I was thinking about buying a cold air induction kit....until I read your post about it not doing much in the way of power. I just looked through our Ford racing catalog and found performance parts for the Focus, but nothing for the Fusion. I would have thought there would be more, even in aftermarket for these but......
  6. Just an FYI for everyone, Fusions do not have spark plug wires, all of them are coil on plug design.
  7. We have not used microfiche in a long time. All of our catalogs are licensed and installed on the hard drives (computers), we then get monthly cd updates to down load. I'm not aware of any company that is making micro for modern vehicles. The problem is with all the part number changes, updates, etc the microfische would be outdated in a matter of months, and it does not vin filter. If you need a pic/part # of something in particular I can copy & paste or fax one for you. The new catalogs run in the thousands and require a contract. Hope this helps.
  8. 2011 FWD IS 17.5 gal per FMC AWD is 16.5 (your right on)
  9. I can run vins for people that would like to know what features the car has on it, warranty info all sorts things. I just ask that I do not get overwhelmed with requests, but I have access to a lot of info from Ford Motor Company. Please keep in mind that I'm not a technician! Whe or if anyone needs any help with parts...I am your guy.
  10. I want to say the tank capacity is more like 15 gal. When I get to work tomorrow I will check into that. I'm also in the breaking in period car had 90 miles on it when I bought some weeks back and now I'm ~900 miles. I'm avg 24 mpg, and would be happy if it got any better.
  11. I'm currently a parts manager at a Ford dealership. I also just bought a 2011 Fusion AWD SEL (under 1000 miles). It is nice to meet everyone and I look forward to talking with everyone.
  12. It should be covered. 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper will cover this part. If not bring it into my dealership if you are in the Seattle area, I can have the service department fix it.
  13. I just bought an 11 AWD SEL (two weeks ago) I am averaging 24-25 mpg.
