    More rust

I found more under the hood. Where the hood skin is folded to the frame!
  2. Warranty took care of it. Yes. it is disheartening to see it. I had a Ranger that did the same thing. It was white and much easier to see.
  3. Probably a drive shaft carrier bearing going out. Mine did the same thing and was replaced under warranty.
  4. It's just a storage system for the vapor. The ECU controls the purge solenoid and opens it so the vapor can be drawn into the engine. That's why you don't want to overfill your tank. You can get liquid gas into the canister assy and mess things up.
  5. It might be the carbon canister assembly. They're electronically controlled and in a black box type mount.
  6. I found rust on the inside edge of both rear doors. Where the door skins are bent over the door frame there is rust bubbling the paint. Here's a couple of pics.
  7. Mine is working real good in all this snow on the south shore of Lake Erie!!
  8. As the owner of a 2007 AWD Fusion, I can say you will not be disappointed with the handling in the snow.
  9. Just went an did a little experiment with a rubber mallet. I dropped the seat backs and tapped around the latch with the trunk lid closed. Nothing happened. The escape handle hangs down and it doesn't take much pull to pop the lid. My bag must be snagging that handle.
  10. Here's something. I keep my 3 ball bowling bag in the trunk. Sometimes it shifts and pops the trunk open. It doesn't take much to make it happen either. I'll be tooling along and the "Trunk Open" light will come on. Never had that problem on any other car.
  11. Is the mileage stored in the gauge cluster or the main computer(ECU)???
  12. The rear drive shaft is in 2 sections. The carrier bearings support the sections. I only had 10,000 miles on mine when it went. It started as a low whine, almost like tire noise and got progressively worse.
  13. Yup. It's probably a carrier bearing going bad. Mine was replaced last spring. Running fine now.
  14. My front carrier bearing went out last spring. No vibration just an ever increasing whine. The whole drive shaft was replaced under warranty.
  15. Aren't those used only on "speed density" systems?
  16. I had a carrier bearing go out on my drive shaft. The whole drive shaft needed to be replaced to fix the problem. It took awhile to get the replacement part. It's running fine now.
  17. I believe you'll get that smell until your catalytic converters warm up.
  18. All that HP is nice but will they require premium fuel?
  19. Drive shaft replaced and all is quiet now.
  20. Just over 10,000 miles. It started slowly. I thought it was tire noise at first. When I heard it going up my gravel drive I knew something was up. It's the front carrier bearing that's bad. The car is drivable, but it's real noisy now. I can hear it above the radio.I Hope that drive shaft gets here soon.
  21. If he buys a Ford product because of this discussion it will have been worth it. Why do you care?
  22. When mine goes into the shop, I'm going to ask the Ford mechanic about the system. Maybe he'll explain it if he has the time. It is a good car for the snow. I prefer driving it over my F150. The truck has more ground clearance but wanders around on acceleration in the snow. We're getting a TON of snow right now. I can't see the end of my lane and when that happens, I don't go out.
