  1. None that I can feel. My SHO had gobs of torque steer! Sometimes it would jump all over the place. The rear stays firmly planted when I get off the gas.
  2. I hope you'll consider buying a Ford. The choice is up to you, but I'm a little biased. :beerchug:
  3. I'll see what I can find out when they fix my drive shaft. My wife had a 500 AWD for a two year lease and she liked it in the snow. I'm a Ford retiree so I won't be driving a Subaru any time soon. :D
  4. As far as wheel slippage, I can't really tell from inside the car. I've had front wheel drive cars (SHO), 4X4 pick ups with posi rears and rear wheel drive cars with posi rears. With the TC off the rear kicks out like all the posi rears I've driven in the snow so take it from there. The snow in the parking lot was 8 or 9 inches. The snow on the road was NOT freshly plowed and it was drifting. I was going at a safe speed for the condition on the road. The car has the tires it came with and I'm happy with their performance in the snow. I've got a drive shaft carrier bearing going out and when it gets replaced I'd like to look at the setup under the car to see what's there. The mech working on it doesn't seem to think it's a HALDEX unit.
  5. Still waiting for the part. Apparently the whole drive shaft has to be replaced to fix the problem.
  6. Mine handles great in the snow. I've posted before on what it does. There is no lag when accelerating from a dead stop. With the TC off, the rear end kicks out a little on acceleration just like my F-150 4X4 that has a posi rear end and 4X4 engaged. TC on and it's arrow straight. I've done donuts in a parking lot with the TC on and off. With it on I noticed the rear anti lock working but still slid pretty well. With the TC off it spun easily. I would say leave the TC off and pedal it if you're worried about understeer.
  7. It's not a problem for me. Mine works just fine.
  8. Drive shaft support bearing was going out. Replacement is on the way. :happy feet:
  9. Seems to me to be coming from the rear end. Sounds like gear whine. I hope it's nothing serious as this car's been flawless until now.
  10. All the P/U's I've had, including the current one, would drift a little in the rear in FWD when accelerating briskly in the snow. Probably because of the lighter weight over the rear axle. The Fusion and 500 do not do that with the TC on. The Fusion does it with the TC off.
  11. My wifes 2005 500AWD would react the same in the snow. Dead straight on flooring the pedal from a dead stop. They did tell her to turn off the TC if she got stuck in the snow. Never had to try that option.
  12. It goes straight as an arrow from a dead stop and a flooring of the accelerator in the snow. The TC doesn't slow the thing down a bit, that I can tell.(seat of the pants) With the TC off, the rear end kicks out a little just like a normal and off I go. I noticed the TC working the back brakes when I was doing a donut in a parking lot. It really likes to spin with the TC off! That was my real world testing this morning.
  13. Time for some real world testing here in northern Ohio. Nice and snowy! :happy feet:
  14. 27.3 highway this weekend. Not bad for AWD I'd say.
  15. Only 9900 miles so far. As I said before, it's all cold weather driving. I'm on my bike when the weather warms up. I live in northern Ohio so we have lake effect snow and this car goes REAL well in the snow.
  16. Just talked to my Ford dealer parts guy and my mats are covered under 12/12000 warranty. The drivers mat tore and all the snow melt is going into the carpet. I'm getting a brand new set of mats fro Ford. :happy feet:
  17. I've had mine for a year now with no problems. I use it mainly in the winter months. When it warms up I'm on my motorcycle. It gets around 21 mpg combined mileage. 26-27 on a road trip.
  18. It was good to have again this morning! Alberta Clipper dumped snow and the driving was slick.
  19. When it's snowing like it is today in northern Ohio! :happy feet:
  20. This sounds like the Harley dino vs synthetic oil debate.
  21. I use Meguaire's(sp) myself. I have used Liquid Glass a time or two.
  22. I would say, get ready to take a hit on trade-in.
  23. Getting 22+ around town on mine. 2007 AWD
  24. I've got a K&N panel filter in mine. Stock replacement. I used to have a 5 liter Mustang notch back that I installed a cold air intake on. The intake portion was under the front bumper. I never had a problem with rain or snow with that and I'm in Ohio.
  25. Is this drawing cooler outside air or engine compartment air?
