  1. Yes, it folds down to about 12" x 12" x 4" when not needed.
  2. I found an inexpensive, well made Trunk Organizer for the Fusion that's a perfect fit across the entire trunk of the car on Amazon for $19.99 and it qualifies for their Free Shipping. It has velcro strips on the bottom that hold it in place from sliding around the trunk. The link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004CCPXAO
  3. It turned out that the actual Build Date was about a week after the date on the window sticker. I love the Fusion Hybrid -- I traded in an Audi A6 for it and I like the Fusion better -- it's quieter and has a better ride. The only thing I miss is the Audi's utilization of every spare cavity in the doors and trunk for storage bins. I'm getting over 40 mpg in suburban driving and the car isn't even broken in yet (just hit 400 miles). :D
  4. All the popular trailer hitches use the existing holes in the rectangular tubing frame members on the Fusion. What is the purpose of these holes, are they to allow moisture to drain out? If so, by covering the holes with the bolts and plates when installing the hitch, will this cause corrosion problems due to trapped moisture?
  5. What brand and model is the bike rack installed on your hitch in the photo? I'm trying to determine what's compatible with the recess dimension of the Hidden Hitch on the Fusion -- some of the racks seem to have a receiver piece that's too short to fit the car without hitting the bumper. ++++++++++++++++++++++++
  6. The plan brochure says it covers brake pads, but doesn't say whether it covers rotors. Does it?
  7. Thanks, everyone for your input! I agree that there is very little value in the prepaid maintenance plan, since the Fusion's maintenance requirements are so few.
  8. Thanks, Allen. FYI, I plan to have all service done at the dealer to keep it simple. That's the cost I was wondering about. For example, I'm trading in my 2004 Audi A6 S-line, which I love, except that it cost a minimum of $400 every 10,000 miles for the factory scheduled maintenance. I have no experience with the Fusion, that's the reason for my question. I used to do all my own maintenance, including tune-ups, carburetor rebuilds, etc. in my youth, but now I've gotten lazy Tony
  9. I'm getting a 2011 Fusion Hybrid soon and was wondering whether it was worth purchasing the "Ford Premium Maintenance Plan." It looks like it would be about $1,300 for 7years/125,000 miles, or about $185/yr. Can anyone provide me information on what the regularly scheduled (10,000 mile) maintenance costs, how does it compare to the $185/yr cost of the Plan? Thanks
  10. I'm surprised, too, since it's THE color of every FFH on Ford's Website and in its sales brochures, but the 2012 Order Guide (attached) doesn't have it listed in the color options (page 14), although it also doesn't have it listed in the Deleted section (page 1), so I guess only time will tell the real fate of Light Ice Blue Metallic.... Thanks to everyone for your help -- I can't wait to get the new car 2012 Fusion Order Guide.pdf
  11. Hi Jeff, Thanks for your reply. I took matters into my own hands and called Ford Customer Service after getting the Dealer's Order Number: I now have the VIN and window sticker and they assured me it would be a 2011 and that "it was in production" whatever that means. The date below the Bar Code is 5/4/11, but some have said that's not the Build Date but the date the sticker was generated/VIN assigned, ???? Tony
  12. I ordered a 2011 Fusion Hybrid in Light Ice Blue Metallic on March 4th, expecting to get it by now. The dealer tells me the Build Date is now June 13th, but I've seen discussions on this forum saying that they are now making only 2012s. Problem: The 2012 Order Guide doesn't list the Light Ice Blue Metallic anymore, replacing it with Ginger Ale, so what's going to happen to my order??? The color is crucial (my wife loves it), so if I won't be able to get it anymore, I need to settle on a 2011 in dealer stock with not the exact equipment I wanted.... HELP
  13. I ordered a 2011 Fusion Hybrid on March 4, 2011. Today, I checked on the Build Date and was told it was June 13, 2011. Do you know whether that will be a 2011 or a 2012? Also, I ordered it in Light Ice Blue Metallic, which isn't in the 2012 Order Guide, so what's likely to happen with that?
