    New Tires

I was a little worried about the tire wear especially since there doesn't appear to be a mileage rating for the A/S tires. I did the math and if I get 2mpg out of them I'll break even after about 20k miles. I was running 37 in the stock tires and these are much softer which is why I set them to 42 (and the 51 PSI sidewall pressure). It's all about finding the balance you like and keeping an eye on the wear.

They still come with the MXM4 or the Energy MXV4. The Energy Savers are quite a bit different, they really seem to have almost no tread pattern, and are going to be significantly worse in bad weather than the Energy MXV4 but have a lower rolling resistance. The biggest thing I've seen so far is they don't seem to scuff up like other tires do. And my stock pressure is 33 so it's interesting to see the differences in model years.

    New Tires

Just a quick mileage update. Over a couple of 120+ mile interstate (Route 90 in western New York) drags I grabbed some numbers. At 42PSI in the tires I got 33.5 MPG at 70 MPH and 28.0 MPG at 75 MPH. They were over the same route, similar driving conditions, and with the A/C off. I was getting 29.2 MPG with the stock tires at 37 PSI at 70 MPH over the same route. I like ride quality improvements from running the Energy Savers at 42 PSI. They seemed very soft and a bit sloppy at the recommended pressure and seem to hold the road much nicer now and there is much better feedback to the wheel. This is also subjective so YMMV.
  4. They're not illegal to have but they're illegal to put in your car unless it was HID from the factory. People were putting them in reflectors and projectors that weren't designed for them and blinding the fuck out of on coming traffic. It became a dangerous situation so they made them non road legal. Basically any bulk shipment of them will be confiscated and many individual ones...

  5. If you looking new I'd be buying the Sport just to get the Aisin transmission myself. If you're looking '09 or older I would get the V6 SEL for the hills around the Bay. I have an I4 and while I love it, it would work very hard to handle those especially at the slower city speeds, probably killing gas mileage.
  6. I bought DDM's and love them but people's experience is pretty hit or miss. Also keep in mind that I think your lights are single bulb where mine are separate bulbs for hi and low beams. Also customs is cranking up enforcement on HID importing so don't ruin your wires in case you can't get replacement bulbs in the future. And yeah what's the deal with that Ryan Miller guy...

  7. I'm a misplaced Buffalonian myself! To bad Ryan Miller is human eah?

I JUST bought a 2011 SEL w/lux. looking for HID setup that wont dissapoint. Have you any suggestions?

  8. I just bought some new Michelin Energy Saver tires to replace the stock tires when I made some friends with a few screws. Anyway I LOVE the tires. They're quiet, they appear to handle nicely (I don't drive the Milan very aggressively though), and they are very well reviewed. The only downside I see is that they are definitely only 3 season tires, there is very little siping and I suspect they will handle like a greased pig. Also on a 200 mile round trip highway cruise, with a few hours break in the middle for work, I gained between 2 and 3 miles per gallon. Here is where is gets fun. I was checking tire pressures and detailing the car today when I realized the mechanic didn't inflate my tires correctly. The fronts were "correct" at 33 PSI but the rears were both at 30. So I gained 2-3 MPG with under inflated tires compared to stock tires inflated to 37 psi. I decided to bump them up and noticed that the sidewall max pressure is 51! I haven't seen tires that high in a long time. I put them at 42 to see how they ride and handle. I don't know if I'll get much more mpg out of them but the quick in town trip I took I seemed to feel the road better and were a tad more responsive to input from the wheel. As a side note I would refrain from buying tires from Sears in the future. It took over a week to get the tires in, they were completely unable to find, track, or even know if I had ordered them until they arrived in the store. They tried to give me someone else's tires the first time I called and didn't catch the mistake until they were getting ready to print the work authorization. Then once they were in the store it took almost 30 minutes just to get through all the hoops and then another 90 minutes to have them mounted. On the up side I got new valve stems for free and the mechanic managed to put the tires on the car and balance them without hurting either the car or tires but he failed at putting a correct pressure in them. They ended up being competitively priced but that's about the best I can say of the whole process.
  9. There are a couple places in the Buffalo area that are pretty well regarded if you don't mind crossing the border. I haven't had mine done yet but I have looked into them.
  10. What about seat lean? A couple degrees can make a HUGE difference.
  11. Smart choice. That Accord might still be running in 3 years...
  12. Sony is the root of all evil but I haven't had a problem with the speakers in my 09 milan and this is the first blown speaker issue I've seen.
  13. Translation: I'm selling some Bentchi B3 Chrome rime with minor blemishes and mostly worn out tires. Asking $1700
  14. I think it depends entirely upon how you sit and aim your mirror. I'm 6'1" I was just driving home and had absolutely no issue and I've checked multiple times since seeing this thread a while back. I think this is the case for the majority of people, I can even see it dim as someone drives up behind me. There is no recall because there is nothing inherently wrong with the mirror, it just doesn't work for you the same way some people can't fit in the FFH. I also have a third brake light and no spoiler.
  15. Apparently it got a lot worse with the 2010 so being a little taller than they tested (6'1") and having a 2009 help me a lot. I'm still thinking about the camera
