  1. I beleive we were discussing hood scoops specifically. Not heat exhaust vents. Since you didn't get it the first time, here's a re-run... concentrate: "Hoods scoops are leftovers from the days of carburated intakes." This is a completely arguable point with specific relation to production cars. "There's many vehicles today with hood scoops, sure. Most of them are aesthetic though. The only functional hood work on the Mustangs today is the GT500 and it's not an intake scoop, but rather an exhaust." Whatever point of view you want to take, wonderful. I think scoops for most production cars are a relic performance motif to emphasize sportiness of a vehicle whether the vehicle actually possesses that characteristic or not.
  2. I'm from Atlantis. Me and Aquaman are dating real serious and stuff. He thinks he may move in, but I'm not sure cause he's got webbed hands and feet and that's kinda weird...
  3. Leave it to those pesky Mustang guys to suggest turning our quiet little slice of automotive forum into a three ring circus! A hex upon thee! HISSSSSSS! HISSSSS!!!
  4. If you mean lowering the suspension and slapping a larger sway bar up front... sure... SVT improves dynamics.
  5. If it's a manufacturer defect, it would be covered by the warranty. But there may be a short time limit on paint defects. I say live with it. Odds are the car is going to eventually get wrecked.
  6. Since we're being ticky-tack: Saleen is an aftermarket modfier. Doesn't qualify as a production Mustang. My statement stands. Guess I've built up an immunity to formaldehyde.
  7. Woah! Easy there, cowboy! Just sayin'...
  8. Word of the day: "Non-Functional." There's many vehicles today with hood scoops, sure. Most of them are aesthetic though. The only functional hood work on the Mustangs today is the GT500 and it's not an intake scoop, but rather an exhaust.
  9. Promoting that type of activity could set the forum up for a legal mess. Just put posts up wherever (exterior/interior, etc). Or make a ebay account and post links here to the bid item?
  10. Maybe that's why Germany's always trying to take France? There's nice places in Germany, I'm sure. That's like grading the entire U.S. based on Detroit or New Orleans.
  11. Cool. But if you ask me, the upcoming 2.5L twinforce powertrain (2009 model) is just as well.
  12. Not likely. The air box is behind the driver's side headlight. Even if it was "functional" the ducts would have a huge u-turn built in that directed any air back to the front of the car. Removing the headlamp is more efficient. Hood scoops are leftovers from the days of carburated intakes.
  13. Just be careful. And remember: Nothing lasts forever. After the first rock chip, any that happen after than are less painful as they accrue.
  14. With 30mpg, I'm thinking that's a pair of 2.3L's. P.S. - Milans pwn Fusions!

    Fuel Door Mod

Glad we could work out that intricate piece of trivia. Now... is anyone going to take up the challenge and install a Bullitt fuel door on their Fusion? Come on... it would be so Tokyo Drift!
  17. Enjoy your three month wait. Yes, three months.
  18. Yeah, I did that exact thing with my Mustang V6. Thing is, Mustangs support an entire aftermarket industry and have a 40+ year longevity. The Fusion/Milan are only just entering their third year on the market. This mid-size family sedan is not going to support an aftermarket anywhere near the Mustang. Call a body shop and ask them about ordering the OEM parts. Or, hey... you're on the Internet... try some Google?
  19. I'd think you'd have noticed that on the test drive if it's such a big deal. Not all accelerator pedals are created equal. You are going to have to get used to it. Over time the mechanics of the pedal will likely wear in. Think about when you get a new pair of shoes--stiff--but a year later they're soft and pliable.

    New to Forum

Welcome aboard. Watch out for rampant cynicism.
  21. I can only assume that kit would have to be ordered from a Ford dealer's parts desk. Since the model is still in production, Ford may only vend these parts to body shops.
  22. Correct. It's not simply a matter of "can those headlights go on that car." Any part adjacent to the headlights is affected.
  23. Kind of reminds me of what a Audi/Altima bastard might look like.
