  1. Those look nice. Pricey though. Would make sense with rubber on them.
  2. How would you know if you WERE riding the brake? You can't see your own brake lights... Wake up and drive. Few things irritate me more than someone operating a vehicle with both feet.
  3. A Ford employee on BlueOvalForums.com confirmed powertrains for 2009 will include a 2.5L turbo option. Here's the complete run down: 180-190hp 2.5l I4 240-50hp 3/0l V6 260-280hp TwinForce 2.5l I4 Hybrid
  4. Different geographic markets get different ads. Texas, for instance, gets completely unique ad campaigns.
  5. Have him move his seat forward. Sounds like he's sitting too far away from the pedals. It's got a telescoping steering wheel, so move that further in. Make sure he understands this isn't his la-z-boy. It's a 3400lbs. weapon. Explains the increase in elderly people crashing through street markets though...
  6. My bad. Guess I didn't feel like reading the whole post at the time. Apollogies all around (especially for those with constant sand in their vagina issues). I could care less if my car's dune pearl or dung beetle brown... I need it to do the job and it does--magnificently.
  7. The wheels are identical. it would appear to me that the Milan silver wheel trim is simply an additional plastic piece that goes over the stock wheel.
  8. I think it was a ridiculous decision and an effort with no reward. Cloth seats are downmarket. While 99.9% of car buyers who get leather seats pay extra for them, you've actually paid extra to avoid them. Simply because the inserts--which you can't see when you're sitting on them--happen to be red.
  9. A Range Rover for the common mom. Those images are pretty crappy.
  10. The steering wheels appear to be identical. The Fusion simply doesn't have a contrasting color (silver) in that area. It's completely monochrome instead. On a side note... maybe that photo is something you just grabbed off the web, but if not: what the hell did you do to your car?
  11. You mean with, or without the stickers? Mad stickaz = +15hp
  12. Ford needs to put these ads on TV immediately. Pure genius! Click on the small link on the right showing the guy with shampoo in his hair ("The Fusion really tingles!): http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordchallenge/...14230|114580804 Hilarity ensues.
  13. Enough with the smilies... geez. Far as I can remember, keyless keypads have been on various Ford products since the early 90's. It's a fairly common technology--and not even as impressive as the foreign cars that supposedly recognize your touch (I think it's again, a radio signal from the key fob and your close proximity to the vehicle). The new keyless keypads offered as an accessory do not utilize any wiring or drilling. It's a simple transmitter that mimicks the signal of your key fob. Pretty neat. I think it's cool that you can just go buy these now, stick em on, program them, and go. Cheaper and more convenient than Pop-A-Lock. And a hell of a lot more efficient than any OnStar garbage (I mean, what happens when you lock your keys AND cellphone in your car?).
  14. Perhaps it's with regard to the key fob transmitter frequencies... not sure. Seems like it wouldn't be a big difference. My main question is, how do you change the battery in the keypad if it goes out? I mean, this thing is effectively stuck to the side of your car with 3M glue.
  15. That looks almost identical to the Milan Premier interior... Milan has Wales mahogany trim though, and the Fusion wood looks a bit piney. Here's an image from Ford's website that confirms the wood trim is on the Fusion S trim level:
  16. http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/fas/b2c/catalog.asp The Ford Genuine Accessories website now has keyless entry keypads for sale--and for just $85. This is awesome, because it's the one thing my Dad pointed out that his Sable has and my Milan doesn't. No drilling... it just sticks on and emits the same frequency as your remote key fob. I always wondered how it worked... makes too much sense. I might have to go pick one of these up! The description shows how the thing operates: Keyless Entry Keypad Part Number: 7L2Z-14A626-BA MSRP: $85.00 Conveniently unlock your vehicle without your key or keyless entry remote. No wiring necessary – programmable, backlit keypad tunes to the same frequency as your transmitter. No-drill installation. Comes with two covers: one is primed (paint to match); the other has a black textured finish. For vehicles equipped with factory remote keyless entry. Fits: Ford Fusion 2008 2007
  17. Nope. Prime/paint. Would suggest Photoshopping a picture before you get involved in something permanent.
  18. I seriously doubt it. It makes sense for a performance car like a GT, but not for a high-production family sedan. The GT's is very low and you want as flat an undercarriage as possible with that car. Fusion has relatively high clearance. Especially in the rear. Wind currents under the back of such a pedestrian vehicle at that point are pretty irrelevant. Most models like Mustang and Fusion just get a plastic cover over the fuel tank. Protects the tank's integrity just fine.
  19. A single crack in a windshield will not cause it to "fall in on you." That's just silly. The windshield is clearly bigger than the hole it covers. You can wait to get it fixed. I wouldn't worry about it until your inspection sticker needs to be renewed. Quick sidebar: Members of this forum (like most others) are from all over the U.S.--and even sometimes international. You shouldn't assume we know what "96" is or who "Cascade Auto Glass" is.
  20. urnews is right... why aren't you taking this issue in to a local dealer for warranty coverage?
  21. I've been noticing a lot lately that the fan speed when the A/C is on fluctuates every couple of seconds. It's quite annoying if its the only sound in the car. While I'm driving I hear the A/C blowing air at a set speed--then it slows--and then speeds up. This continues indefinitely. It occurs while the Auto setting is deactivated and the fan speed is at any setting. Vent is set to recirculate interior air too. I'm concluding that this behavior has to do with the digital thermostat and the HVAC system's effort to maintain that exact temperature. Thing is, I prefer to not have the Auto thermostat feature on because it defaults to floor/dash output (in 98 degree weather, I want it all coming out of the dash). Any other owners notice this strangeness?
  22. Yeah, I saw that recently in a banner ad, I think. "SUPERSTAR!"
