  1. I have been building cars for more years then i want to remember. Adding an air intake is a proven way to make power. Now the results vary car to car. But if you take a look at this dyno sheet from K&N on their intake they are making 6.05 more HP on the fusion and the Steeda intake is a very close design. Steeda is also stating a 6hp gain on the fusion. So maybe you want to do some research before you open up your mouth from down on. :hysterical2:

Oh shit... a friggin CAI piece of crap. Guess what that does? Nothing. Advertised horsepower gain? B.S. Great job on getting the trendiest "mod" available. Really shows your years of automotive mechanic experience.

  2. Sorry had not been out on this board for a while but yes there is a def HP gain. You can feel it alot more. The wife even said she could tell that getting onto the freeway was much esier. Well worth the money and the small time to install it.

Until you dyno this vehicle, scan in your readout, and post it on this forum, I'll remain on the "you're-probably-imagining-a-substantial-horsepower-gain" side of the fence.

Sorry, but getting a fantastic performance increase out of a 2.3L four-cylinder in a Fusion by simply swapping the intake manifold brings out the skeptic in me. Want a performance increase? Reprogram your fuel system to squirt more gas in the cylinders.

  3. well meelan, i was just trying to give fusion owners current news about its future... this story has gotten so many hits over at GM insider news and it does not even concern the livleyhood of thier products, im surprised nobody cares about the future of these products!

Don't get me wrong, escapen... I appreciate the post. Just want to point out what's between the lines here. That article has more holes than a Saigon whore.

  4. yup. selling the Cobra... seems weire to replace a 320 hp V8 with a 160 hp I4... but i need to be saving more money... i've already filled the Cobra up twice this week, at $30 each.

Whew! If nothing else, you'll appreciate knowing you'll have the capability to achieve 29-30.5mpg and around 470-500 miles on 16 gallons. That's what I've consistently been getting. And I drive around 600 miles/week.

  5. Uh oh....my bad....

    Crud....I'm so fired

Nah... just the guy at Ford's crack-ass marketing department for mislabling the interior photos. Clearly an S model would not come standard with leather seats or steering wheel.

  6. I guess you had to pick the BMW picture to make your point only because the 3 links listed above that are fully functional HOOD SCOOPS on some of today's PRODUCTION vehicles.

2008 Magnum SRT, the Subaru Outback and the Subaru Impreza are not production vehicles, dude..just give it up. Your hood scoop statement has no merit!

I digress, only because I am tiring of your 'bait and switch' arguement tactics.

    Take a chill pill. Geez.

You've got non-functional scoops on your car. Fine. Whatever. Looks nice, but even if converted to some level of "functional" status they'd have minimal to no impact on engine performance. You don't have a carburator in the center of your engine bay below your windsheild... ergo, the scoop motif is an aesthetic gimmick.

  7. it only makes sense to me that these are exactly the same car (minus exterior appearance and options, etc)... But when looking at Steeda's website, they parts they list are for a Fusion... just as a precaution, is it safe to say that these parts will also fit the Milan, or is there some freak design characteristic that i don't know about?

Save for body panels, all parts should be completely interchangable. They're the same car with only chassis tuning between them.

Steeda is likely limited to the name they apply due to their license to use the Fusion name alone.

Ford likely does not want the aftermarket impressing upon people that the cars are the same. Keeping the Mercury identity separate is important in the big picture. Or it could simply be laziness in not wanting to type extra characters on every item ".../Milan."

  8. everytime you post something, you basically come out and tell everyone that you're the anti fordfusionforum.com

This is a good forum for sharing information about the CD3 platform, vehicle ownership experience, and potential service issues.

    Why are you here?

  9. quality over quantity is key, sure. But wouldn't it be nice to be able to BS a little with other people enjoying the same cars as you? organize local get togethers based on having these cars in common? if you have an active forum here, you are more likely to achieve the quality you desire in the not so active forums because if something is happening often here, those members will be more inclined to post other, quality, content.

and you guys are acting like just because it's a "lounge" that there cant' be rules and the place just has to be crazy. not so. make rules, keep it clean, but just have an open forum to basic chit chat between members, so the forums where the quality should be, don't get weighed down with mindless chit chat.

Dude... I'm in New Orleans. You're in Las Vegas. Who knows where the other 10-12 active posters live. This isn't some "local car scene" forum. We're not going to all get together and shoot the shit about Ford Fusions on a Saturday night in the parking lot of the Burger King down the street.

  10. that's insane. the first place i go when i need parts for my cars is the For Sale sections on message boards. i'd rather buy from the guys that i regularly converse with before buying from sellers on ebay (nothing wrong with ebay).

Works great until the first time you get stiffed by some 16 year-old. Yes, it happens.

There's a reason Ebay has a lock on its service.

  11. The Owner's Manual indicates that the fuel filter for the Fusion/Milan is a lifetime part that does not require replacement. This would be why you're not able to find one.

    Look it up.

The stupid dealer tried to sell me that and fuel additive (which the manual indicates NEVER to use) during my 15,000 mile oil change. I had to educate him on something you think Ford would have educated the dealer service staff on itself.

  12. If I read this correct you are stating that the above picture of interior is a Fusion S? If so, that is incorrect as a Fusion S model does not even have the option of leather interior. Only SE and SEL models can get leather seating options.

MGUERCI'S picture is correct for a SEL with the camel interior.

SE with I-4 or V6 has carbon fiber center stack

SEL with I-4 or V6 has gloss piano black w/the dark charcoal and Med. light stone interiors.

The simulated woodgrain is only available on a Fusion equipped with the camel interior.

I thought it looked incorrect too, but it says that is a picture of the Fusion S on fordvehicles.com. See the image below:

  13. :hysterical:

this isn't my first message board.

Certainly isn't mine either, but why don't we avoid trying to make it like every other board you've been on?

Wanna sell crap? Go to Ebay.

  14. you're basically asking this site to keep from growing. if there is activity here, it will get bigger... and in turn, more Fusion related tech/information will show up. you don't like the lounge, don't click on it. can't get any easier than that.

I remember when MTV showed music videos.

This forum is special because of its typically strict adherance to Fusion/Milan/MKZ/Ford subject matter. Social crap is social crap. I personally prefer quality over quantity on a car forum.
