  1. I don't think the fusion drain plug has a gasket. Strange.
  2. there were some great manuals on ebay a while back. they were exactly what the dealer service centers use. on dvd and evrything. not sure if they are still available
  3. I get 37.3 mpgs, ac or heat almost always on, short commute (10 min), and I live in Indiana. I'd say the estimate is pretty reasonable.
  4. Sold a car last year. Autotrader is a joke. Didn't get a single hit off of their premium package. Believe it or not, I got all of my interest and sold the car just from putting a sign in my car window. Cars.com offers a free service that is identical to autotrader but it seems like more people are on it. I would start there.
  5. I have heard of something similar happening to another person on this forum. Two things for you to check. First is easier, check your low volatage battery (the one similar to all car batteries). If it is not properly charged, that can cause problems. The car will not run without the low voltage battery. The second is more difficult. I have heard of some cell on the high voltage battery going bad. If that is the case, it would need to be diagnosed and repaired at the dealer. You should request a brand new battery, not fixing yours. Good luck and please let us know when you figure it out.
  6. My experience is very similar to yours. I also have a short drive to work...about 12 minutes. I live in northern indiana so temps get down to 0 in normal winters. My average during the summer is about 38-40 mpgs. When it gets colder than about 60 degrees, I start see the mileage drop. I would agree with you that down to 30 is where my drop ends. At 30 or below I get about 31.5 mpgs. Thanks for compiling the data.
  7. This is one of two minor things I don't like about the fusion hybrid I own. When I unlock the doors via the keylews entry remote, the tail lights and marker lights don't light up to let me know the doors are unlocked. They will only light up when it is dark out. Is there a way to program this so they will always acknowledge when the doors unlock via the key less remote?
  8. Personally, I have noticed a fairly significant drop in fuel economy when the weather turned colder here. I live in Chicago area. When the temp dropped below about 50-55, the mileage seemed to go down and again when it started getting around 30 in the mornings. At my best, there was 90 degree weather and I was trying hard to use electric power...I could get around 40mpg. This is REAL mpg's by the way, not the fake numbers that show on the instrument panel. If you dont believe me, do the math when you fill up. Now that its cold out (and I've also stopped trying really hard to maximize fuel economy...I usually get between 32.5 and 35. I guess that could just be the way I'm driving though. On your other points about drive-ability...Man, I couldnt disagree with you more. I LOVE the way my FFH drives. I am coming from a 94 Mustang Cobra (fairly harsh ride quality), so maybe my opinion is skewed. The Bilstein shocks/struts make going over railroad tracks or irregular road so much nicer (in fact, nicer than my girlfriends brand new Mercedes), the engine and driving noise is super quiet..especially when the electric motor is doing the work, its comfortable to sit in, I love the bluetooth audio. I'm sorry if this is turning into a rant, but I just like the ride quality of my Fusion Hybrid so much that it had to be said.
  9. Can someone post a pic of where the plug is located? The manual doesnt say. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for all the replies and help. I still have a question for those of you with a stock remote start system from ford. Is there any benefit to that system over a normal DEI remote start system. Specifically, is the ford system designed to run the ICE the whole time under remote start to warm the car more? Or does it just start the car normal and the ICE will run until warm, then shut off and get cold again?
  11. I want to get a remote start system for the winters. Does anyone know if I need a special remote start from for because it is a hybrid or can i buy any one from best buy? I have 2010 by the way.
  12. My guess is that they think it's more than a small rock that hit the bumper. If you showed me that I would guess the same thing? Not saying you did hit anything but it sure appears that is the case
  13. Is there an equivalent to u-joints on our hybrids?
  14. Thank you very much for the documentation. The noise did come back this morning. After really trying to rack my brain for a good description, it sounds like when a pulley bearing starts to go bad. Like it is turning on a rough shaft instead of being smooth. I have noticed the noise seems to coincide with the up arrow (charging) being lit. Only when the arrow is blue though. As soon as I use the brakes and it turns green, the noise stops. I have heard the noise while stopped so it doesn't matter if the wheels are turning. But it is more noticeable while running
  15. Ya, I am having a hard time finding where the noise comes from because the engine flops over to electric. But i realized today that I can run the a/c to use up the battery and force the gas engine to run. If the noise returns I will do that.
