    hello all

Welcome to the forum. I have not been on here in a while but you have a great car. Mine is an 2010 and now has approx 55K of trouble free miles. The only thing changed or repaired was the low voltage battery changed under warranty at around 33K miles. I am still getting great mileage on the hybrid life time mileage is 43.3 mpg.
  2. There is no way there is a 1/2" gap on one side of a 2013 Fusion trunk. And to say you can push the rear quarter panel and close the gap just further shows the dishonest post. I have looked at probably 100 2013 Fusions and not one has anywhere near 1/2" gap, they are not even 1/4". And to say the quarter panel is loose is totally ludicrous. And to further say that this dealer can move a body part and say it is normal is insane. If you are going to post, at least make it almost believable. Post like yours just validate why I have not logged on for a year. I doubt you even have a new Fusion. Moderator don't bother warning me, guys like this should be the ones getting a warning. I'm not coming back I just thought I would log on to see what owners are saying, this is obviously not an owner. You should require vin numbers before anyone can post, just to keep this garbage elsewhere.
  3. I have 46,000 on 2010 Hybrid no problems as of this point. Very happy with the car.
  4. Before I'm blasted for last statements when I wrote loose cap, I am talking filler door on this particular application. I've been fixing these problems for so long it was just an automatic slip of proverbial tongue to refer to gas cap. And don't get me wrong this could be a dirty EGR valve also, but by how it is acting I still say filler door. At least you have a code to start your investigation. And you did just fill up before this happened, listen to me or not but this is where you or whoever starts the search. And I did refer to bad fuel before I had anything to go on, and I stated this at the time. But by the lack of info in the starting post fuel or emission I.e filler door was the most logical place to start.
  5. Here go all the arguments on a simple problem. Yes a loose cap will cause this alert. The evap system is tied to the fuel system and sends fuel vapors back to the fuel system i.e. gas tank. A loose cap or in this case a filler door that is not sealed properly will not allow the system to pressurize and cause evaporative problems and this does trip this code. And it has been discussed on this forum before, there have been many fuel door problems reported. This shows the reason why the fuel codes do not always tell you exactly what the problems are they aim you in the right direction for trouble shooting. I will be very surprised if like I said from day one that this is not caused by a simple loose cap, more so than the first GUESS bad fuel, or loose fuel door. It is also automatic that the dealer installs all software updates when a problem is being trouble shot, just because they flashed the computer does not mean this was the problem, or that it would even correct this problem. Follow the fuel door cleaning instructions and this problem will more than likely go away, if it has not already.
  6. That is a generic code for exhaust gas recirculation flow. This was most likely a leak at the filler cap, maybe the opening did not seal properly after you filled up. There are steps to clean the door in the owners manual.
  7. Without a computer code it's impossible to say what may be causing this. Did the dealer find a pending or active code? This sounds like a very minor problem, maybe a bad seal on the gas filler door or bad fuel. There are just far to many issues that this could be. But normally when the light comes and goes it is related to fuel system usually a bad tank of gas. Did you have a new tank of fuel within a day or so when this started?
  8. No it will not get the light of day the media has been giving only the negative news on hybrid vehicles. I have seen nothing but this one small write up.
  9. California court overturned the woman's case, and reversed the decision declaring it was the woman's driving style not the software up date that lowered her mpg numbers. Stating that most drivers get much closer to the advertiised mileage and it was her driving style not the fault of Honda. She had to pay Honda's court costs, they should sue her for loss of Hybrid sales because of her false claims.

    Cruise Control

It may be a many things, but the most likely are the cruise control switch 29C888 or the cruise control deactivator switch 7C534. The CCS cost $86.05 from Ford number AE5Z9C888AA. You need to trouble shoot these two pieces using a multimeter to determine if is something else. It could just be a simple vacuum hose leak, or bad electrical connection. If your brake switch was bad it would send a code to the computer and trip the check engine light. It could also be the clock spring on the steering column, this requires steering wheel removal. Don't just start replacing parts, this could be costly if you did.
  11. I have my key hidden at the rear on top of the bumper support in a plastic magnet hide-a-key box that fits the key and you would need to feel the exact spot to find it. I got the key from Ford and the box from Wal Mart.
  12. They are resonable price at the dealer and they will cut ands program it for free.
  13. My engine never starts up, and never has. When I turn the ignition key the green running light turns on. Do you mean the green running light does not come on? My car always starts in silent mode no engine running, it's not until I get out of my drive way that the ICE starts up for the first time.
  14. Exactly and well put. I to used a blanket statement or more than one for that matter, when I said ANYONE. I have also made it way more than clear to say it is not for everyone. But on the same note everyone could benefit if they wanted to. I know Waldo you were just being absurd in the 100 miles a year statement. The whole point is the negative hype, that you will never return the premium is totally false. And the pay off will be different for everyone and for some it will never happen. My total point from the first time this ever came up is, it's just another option that you have to pay for and if you like it get it. If you get a payback great, and this option is the only one at this time for that matter that will give you a payback on it's purchase.
  15. Hybrid buyers are not the ones that started this argument. It is people like Waldo that use rediculous logic and math that cause this discussion. Take Waldo's same math, when a person drives 100,000 miles a year, then the car will pay the premium off in less than a year, this is a pointless argument and totally misleading. It all boils down to how long a person plans to keep their car and if they value their money. A hybrid is not an investment persay but it will save and like any investment, returns don't always happen overnight. If you don't start a savings at some point it will never happen that is simple math that the hybrid bashers on this post don't understand. As far as Honda's suit yes there were many issues and the main one was the woman was not told about her style of driving and that she had to change. This was her argument going in and then as all court cases many other issues came up. There are many people with the same car she owned that get far greater mileage than she was getting. Her contention going in was the car never got the advertized mileage and then went down from there to the 30's after upgrades and one of her other first claims was the batteries were already going bad causing this to happen. If you go to fueleconomy.gov the average for same car in the suit is two tenths higher than the advertized combined mileage which was 42 mpg after more than 60 samples with some samples being recent the mileage is on par with the combined average for this same car it is at 42.2 mpg. The whole thing started by the answer to her complaints to Honda about her mileage Honda told her it was her driving style not a problem with the car. All I tryied to do from the beginning of this post was give the person the answer he was looking for and then all the hybrid hate bashing started. Look in the mirror before blaming the hybrid owners most are just trying to enjoy their car and are faced with having to try to explain their purchase anytime economy discussions are brought up. As for myself I can't see why anyone that is going to keep the car for five or more years do not get a hybrid over the 4 cyl. And before Waldo jumps in on that statement as long as the person drives a resonable amount of mileage say like the norm which is 12k a year.
